Maddie Donohoe off to Argentina to represent the United States

Curtis Din

Awesome FISH, Maddie Donohoe, leaves today for Argentina to represent The FISH and USA Swimming at the Youth Olympic Games. These games are an international competition sponsored by the IOC for elite athletes 15-18 years old. Maddie is one of eight American swimmers competing at the games in Buenos Aires, Argentina which open on October 6th and can be viewed online. The swimming portion of the games will be held from October 7th to October 12th.

It is an incredible honor to be selected to compete at the games. There are only eight swimmers, four male and four female, selected to represent the US. Athletes were selected according to their fastest times and corresponding world rank from official Youth Olympic Games qualifying competitions during the qualifying period. The group represents the United States’ top junior swimmers and Maddie is one of three swimmers on the team who is also a member of the 2017-2018 National Junior Team.

We are excited for Maddie to have this opportunity and wish her all the luck. Be sure to tune in and cheer her on. Go FISH!
