Thank you for your continued patience and flexibility as we ramp up for this 2021 summer season. As you know, we have been delaying CPAC Pool Member registration, since we do not have a firm opening date yet. We are still working with the City. Our last meeting was pushed back from last Friday to this Wednesday. At this point, there is a possibility of opening on May 22nd and May 23rd just for the weekend. However, all indications look good for being open by Memorial Day weekend for summer....

We are making progress and still striving for a normal 2021 summer season. Since our last post on March 13th, we have had two productive meetings with the City of Atlanta with the mutual goal of getting our pools open. We have submitted a pragmatic operational plan / proposal, which has been forwarded to our Mayor's pandemic team for review. If all goes well, we will be able to open on weekdays starting Memorial Day, May 31st. Moreover, we are hoping to open on weekends prior to this date, which...

It has been a long year and we are almost through this pandemic. We hope this email finds you well as CPAC approaches our 20th summer season of serving our greater community. In addition, our Tidal Waves will be striving for their 8th Atlanta Swim Association championship. Currently, we are planning for a normal summer at the pool, but preparing for all possibilities. We know we can do swim teams and have been all winter. However, we are hoping to see everyone again soon. As always, we are optimistic. Like...

Unfortunately, our July 6th Opening Pool Day has been delayed and put on hold. We know it is surreal, since tomorrow is July 4th and we are usually together celebrating in the parade and at the pool. CPAC continues to coordinate with the City of Atlanta's Parks Department and Pandemic Team, as well as have been collaborating with our fellow Atlanta public/private partnership pools in Garden Hills and Piedmont Park. Since our last correspondence, we submitted a robust swim schedule inclusive of transition and disinfecting breaks throughout the day. However,...

The Chastain Park Athletic Club (CPAC) submitted a compelling plan to the City of Atlanta Parks Department to fully reopen the pool last week, but under strict guidelines. Our plan was vetted by the City of Atlanta’s Pandemic Team. The outcome was we have been given permission to slowly start reopening with our “Swim Teams” first. We know the public and our pool members are disappointed and we are too, since we cannot serve you yet. However, we are grateful to the Parks Department and Pandemic Team for their willingness...

We are not open yet, but we made progress this week as we passed our delayed annual Fulton County inspection on Tuesday. Therefore, we should be able finalize our plans and protocols once we know how the City of Atlanta's decisions impact the Chastain Park Swimming Pool. We will meet with the City this coming Monday. It is our hope to be able to share a clearer picture by Tuesday, June 2nd and begin serving you again sooner than later. Thank you for your patience and support. Remember as we...

We hope everyone is safe and well. Thank you again for your patience, but we are still in a Holding Pattern for getting back in the water. We are working on scenarios to serve you and the public this summer. Swim teams will probably be in the mornings to segment populations. Schedule will likely start with our US Masters (year-round adults), USA Swimming (year-round kids), and then the Tidal Waves Swim Team (summer kids). Basically, we will adjust hours and rules to serve as many as safely as possible. In...

We hope your family is safe and well. CPAC wants to let you know we remain optimistic about the summer season. Moreover, we are thankful for all the frontline workers in healthcare, public safety, and the military for keeping us safe. In addition, it is hard to fathom that 30 million of our fellow citizens are now unemployed in less than two months time, but we will all persevere. As you can imagine, CPAC is dealing with many variables and adjusting on a daily basis with the goal of getting...

Dear CPAC Family and Greater Community: Your safety is always our priority and together we will overcome the current challenges in these uncharted waters. In this light, the Chastain Park Athletic Club has suspended our CPAC year-round programs as of noon today, Saturday, March 14th until further notice. The teams include USA Swimming (kids) and US Masters (adults), as well as our GA Special Olympics partner. We initially expect this pause in training to last about two weeks in line with Governor Kemp's request for limited public interactions. However, everything...
