ORCAS MAKE A SPLASH AT MID-SEASON MARK
JULY 7TH, 2014

The Lethbridge Orcas continue to dominate the pool as they eye the end of the season. The Orcas have continued their winning ways this year in Region F by capturing a team trophy the majority of the meets they attended this season. Most recently, several Orcas represented the City and County of Lethbridge at the Southern Alberta Summer Games. The Orcas only had 23 in attendance, but they came away with over 25 medals. This was a great opportunity to race other teams not normally on the Orcas competition schedule.

The Orcas will be busy in the next few weeks travelling to the Crowsnest Pass, Fort McLeod, and Nanton (all meets where the Orcas are defending champions). On the final stage before the end of the regular season, some of the Orcas will be attending Alberta Games (representing Zone 1). This is a great opportunity for the Orcas to race against some winter club competition as they prepare for the qualifying meets at the end of the summer. The final stop for the Orcas Region F season will be at Regionals hosted at Max Bell Regional Aquatic Center, where they hope to overwhelm the competition and qualify a strong number of swimmers onto the Provincial Championships in Edmonton August.
