AWARDS CRITERIA

Coaches Award (Tier I/II Groups), Masters Swimmer of the Year & Mini Orca of the Year
These awards will be given to one female and one male athlete who best exemplifies a winning attitude in each group. This attitude must be consistently demonstrated throughout the summer and will include the following traits: positive team/group spirit, positive team/group leadership, a positive attitude, a good attendance record, a good work ethic, and great sportsmanship on and off the pool deck. This award is mainly subjective and will be selected at the coach’s discretion. Swimmers that do not attend the Region F Championships will not be considered for this award.

Most Improved
This award will be given to the most improved swimmer in each Tier I/II group. The Most Improved Swimmer Award may be based upon the swimmers’ improvement in attitude, skill level and/or performance level. This award is mainly subjective and will be selected at the coach’s discretion. Swimmers that do not attend the Region F Championships will not be considered for this award.

Top Performance
This award will be given to the top male and female performer in each of the following categories: 6 & under, 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, 15-17 and 18 & Over. The Top Performance Award will be based upon swimmers’ individual event contribution to team scoring at Championship Meets. The swimmer in each category that accumulates the most individual points at the ASSA Provincial Championships will be deemed the Top Performer. In the case that a category does not have any swimmers with individual points scored at the ASSA Provincial Championships, then the individual points accumulated at the Region F Championships will be considered. In the event of a tie, multiple awards will be presented. Swimmers that do not attend the Region F Championships will not be considered for this award.

In-Season Top Performance
This award will be given to the male and female in the club who accumulate the most points at in-season meets (all meets excluding Regionals and Provincials). The higher one's meet attendance, the greater possibility one will have at winner this award as the award is given to the swimmer grossing the most points.

MVP
This award will be given to the most valuable athlete in the club. These athletes will be considered valuable due to their excellent and well-rounded performances, their ability to elevate their teammate’s performances, their leadership qualities on and off the pool deck, their attendance and attitude. Swimmers must be in Tier I for the entire season to be considered for this award. This award is partially subjective and will be selected at the Head Coach’s discretion in combination with feedback from other coaches, swimmers and parents. Swimmers that do not attend the Region F Championships will not be considered for this award.​

Graduation
This award will be given to club members that graduated from High School during the spring of the current summer swimming season. This award recognizes our athletes that have grown up through our program. It is a chance to highlight their achievements in and out of the pool and give them our best wishes as they venture onto adulthood.

Club Records
Swimmers that have broken individual and/or relay club records will receive certificates. Current club records are can be viewed at http://www.lethbridgeorcas.com/recordsawards.html.
