Barranews Quarterly Update

Barracudas Aruba

Happy Father’s Day to all Artistic Swimmer Dads! Keep on being your swimmers’ biggest fans.

UANA 2021

Aruba the tiny dot that did it! The first UANA Artistic Swimming competition in Aruba. The participants enjoyed it and gave rave reviews and feedback. Congratulations and thank you to all athletes and parents for representing Aruba, committing to Artistic Swimming, and bringing in some medals. Much appreciation for all the volunteers that made this event a success!

After a well-deserved break, we are back on track to conclude the 2020-2021 season. And what a season it has been. Through the pandemic and all, we managed to accomplish quite a lot, and know that there is more to come.

Upcoming international competitions

There are still a few upcoming international competitions for 2021: UANA Youth & Junior Worlds (August) and CCCAN (October), Junior Pan Am Games (November). As soon as there is more information from the technical committee we will inform.

End of Year Celebration

This year we will celebrate the ending of the 2020-2021 season on July 17th with an event for all athletes, coaches, and parents. Please save the date and stay tuned for more information.

Training Schedule

The regular and adapted training schedules are and will be posted on the website. We will continue to work towards keeping our members updated using the Teamunify digital platform.

ALV (Algemene Leden Vergadering)

The general member assembly is scheduled to take place in October. However, we kindly request parents who want to volunteer and help with club operations, send an email to [email protected] or send us a Whatsapp message. Before and during the organization of UANA it became even more clear that we need more helping hands and hearts for the club.

Coach Chihiro

It is with a saddened heart we inform you that coach Chihiro will be leaving us at the end of June for the next few months, with the possibility of returning at the end of the year or the beginning of 2022. There are some personal matters that she needs to take care of at home. We knew that she was here temporarily and that she accomplished many of the set goals, we still do not want to let her go as there are many more medals to win for Aruba!
