Antietam Meet, Our Invitational, and July 11 Dual Meet
Hi Wahoo families!
I want to thank each and every one of you for your support last night to make our first dual meet a success. Thank you, parents, for getting your children there early for our team photo. Thank you for helping to prepare them to compete at a high level against an excellent team. Thank you to the many volunteer who worked tirelessly for close to five hours at our first meet. Thank you to parents who were there to support their children and our team.
Last night's results: We lost the meet against Antietam in terms of points, but everybody was a winner last night. We haven't been in the water too long, but for a first dual meet, our kids swam so well. Our experienced swimmers continued to showcase what many years of dedication lead to - seriously fast swimming! So many of our new swimmers overcame their fears and nerves to prove to themselves that they can get up on the blocks to finish a race successfully. That is an accomplishment in itself, but they will continue to improve if they come to practice and meets prepared for success and ready to work hard and execute the details we teach them in practice.
T-shirts: I hope you read the back of our team T-shirt. It's part swimming related, but more about life lessons that I have learned and try my best to live each day. I can tell you first hand that I am so proud to work with such incredible coaches, kids, and their families. I mean it when I say thank you for sending us such great kids to coach up each day. I love our team!!
4th of July Parade: I realize many of you may be away for the July 4 holiday, but if you are around, it'd be great to have your kid(s) march in the Wyomissing parade (wearing their team shirts) with our team. A signup has been shared with you by Jodi Bukowski.
July 9 Wyomissing Invitational: Our long course invitational is scheduled for the morning of Saturday, July 9. Cost per event is $2 for our team members. Normally, it's $4 per event. Swimmers may compete in up to four events. Meet information may be found on the Berks County Swimming Association website under the Invitational link.
