Coaching Staff
Susan has been with the Rapids since 2012 as Head Coach and firmly
believes in “expediting the development of young swimmers
using positive energy and a focus on technique."
Susan has 23 years of coaching experience for both competitive swim
teams and synchronized swimming teams. Susan herself has competed
at the national level from 1984-1986 as a synchronized swimmer and
as a USA Olympic synchronized swim team trials semi-finalist. Susan
was a co-founder and co-coach of Masters Aquatics at Spring Hill
(
MASH
) swim team from 1996-2002, and is an ASCA Level 2 certified coach.
Currently, Susan volunteers as the Meet Director and Volunteer
Coordinator for the Loudon County Special Olympics Time Trials and
serves as Head Coach for Dominion High School Swim
Team. Away from the pool deck,
Susan spent 13 years in the corporate world as a project
manager for environmental consulting companies before staying
at home to rasie her five children.
