Coaches and Directors
Jakob Robinette started his swimming career with the Little Rocky Run Stingrays and the George Mason Makos. He qualified for several national teams with the Makos.
Currently, Jakob swims for the University of Mary Washington, where he specializes in mid-distance freestyle and the butterfly. He has been coaching for seven years, and started as a volunteer coach for the Little Rocky Run Stingrays. He has worked his way up to being the Head Coach of the Winter Swim Program and Assistant Head Coach for the 2021 season.
Jakob attended Centreville High School, where he qualified for the 6A State Championships four times and achieved two team records. Jakob is very excited to coach the Chase Club Sharks this summer and can’t wait to meet everyone!
Avery attends Fairfax High School and is a member of the swim team and varsity softball team. Avery has been swimming since she was 6 years old and has loved the sport ever since. This past winter, she was also one of the Sharks Winter Coaches.
She swims year round and tries to get better and better every year. Her devotion to both the Sharks and her winter swim team helps them get far and win. Avery's connection with the water also extends to her future and current activities. She received her SCUBA certification at age 11 and her boating license in 2020 She dreams of becoming a marine biologist.
Avery hopes that by engaging with other swimmers and helping them improve, they will enjoy getting in the water everyday and have a great time with her by their side.
Erin currently attends Fairfax High school and swims for the high school team. She lettered in the 100 backstroke as a freshman. Erin has been swimming with Chase Club Sharks for over 10 years. She received the coaches award two of those years. Also in that time, she has made the All Stars four times! She has been a valuable part of the team and relay teams.
Most recently, Erin coached the Sharks Winter Swim program. She is very excited to lead as an assistant coach this season and share her love of swimming with the community. She loves being a part of the team and can't wait to coach this summer!
Owen is currently a rising senior at Fairfax High School. In his first year with the school's swim team, he qualified for districts in the 100 backstroke. Along with swimming, Owen is a captain of the Fairfax Cross Country team and a member of the outdoor track and field team. He has been swimming with the Chase Club Sharks since 2015 and won the team's spirit award in 2021. He has swum in the divisional meet in each of his seven seasons with the team.
Owen is very excited to continue coaching for the team and looks forward to working with every family to make this upcoming season a success filled with unforgettable memories.
As a rising senior
attending Fairfax High School, Victor Li is an accomplished swimmer
who has swum since he was four years old. He's been swimming
for Chase Club Sharks since 2013 and has always made it to the top
five of all stars! He currently holds the records for the
11-12 50-meter butterfly, 50-meter freestyle, 100-meter IM and
13-14 50-meter butterfly of the Sharks team. Additionally, he's on
the Fairfax High School varsity swim team and has competed in
district, regional, and state levels. As a year-round/club swimmer
for NCAP, he has qualified for numerous high-level meets, including
NCSA, which represents the highest level of club swimming.
A passionate and competitive swimmer, Victor is always trying to
make the team a better place and help others improve. He's very
excited to be a junior coach this year and can't wait to make
awesome new memories.
Thomas is a current student at UVA majoring in Foreign Affairs and Public Policy. Prior to college, he was a competitive swimmer for 11 years. Additionally, he was a four-year varsity swimmer for Centreville High School. During his time at Centreville, he competed at the district, regional, and state levels and currently holds the school's 100 backstroke and all relay records. He placed 2nd in the state as a sophomore for the 100 backstroke. Thomas also has experience learning from professionals at the Olympic Training Center, where he attended the National Diversity Select Camp. In 2019, he was brought to Chase Club as an assistant coach by Coach Laura and instantly fell in love with the swimmers and families. This will be his fourth summer coaching and cannot wait to have fun with the team!
