Hey Seahorses! My name is Coach Haley and I am very excited for this 2021 swim season! I have been a seahorse since I was 5 years old and could not imagine spending my summer any other way. Ygnacio is where I fell in love with the sport of swimming. This love took me to swim at Clayton Valley High School and Diablo Valley College where I went on to coach for both of those schools. I am currently pursuing a nursing degree at San Diego State University and plan on going into pediatric nursing after graduation. This past year has hit us all in so many different ways, but one thing that will never change is the spirit of Ygnacio Wood! I have made some of the best memories of my life on Ygnacio’s pool deck and I know that we will make many more together. Get ready seahorses, this summer is going to be incredible! GOOOOOO Ygnacio!

Hello horses of the sea! I am Coach Cole. I am thrilled to be coaching again in 2021 as a co-head coach. I have been swimming competitively for the past 14 years and have a range of experience amongst different team dynamics and coaching styles that have benefited me as a coach and person. Swimming is a passion of mine and sharing the love of this sport through coaching is something I don’t take for granted. I love challenging swimmers to keep improving their technique and encourage them to keep asking questions! There is always more to learn! A summer at Ygnacio Wood is the best break and it always flies by, so soak it in! See you all soon and Go Y-DUB Nation!!!

Hello Seahorses!  I’m Coach Alyssa. I  joined Ygnacio back in 2007, and wrapped up my last season as a swimmer in 2018.  Ygnacio is truly the best team, and I’m honored and beyond excited to be returning as a coach.  I am currently an assistant coach at Berean Christian High School for my third year.  Being a high school coach has taught me more about this sport than I ever thought possible. Seeing kids and teenagers break through and accomplish their goals, in and out of the pool, is beyond rewarding, and I’m eager to bring what I’ve learned through that experience to the Ygnacio deck! This team is so special, get ready for the best summer of your life. Can’t wait to kick off the season at the pool that has my whole heart!  Goooooo Ygnacio!!

Hello, my fellow seahorses! I am Coach Mary! I started with the Sea Ponies program and now I am approaching my 14th and final season as a swimmer on Ygnacio. Swim was my first love and some of my favorite memories are the ones I made on the Ygnacio Wood pool deck. There truly is no other team quite as special as this one, and I am beyond excited to be a part of the coaching staff this year! This past fall I was an assistant coach for the Northgate Women’s Varsity Water Polo team, and I am currently swimming for Diablo Valley College in hopes to further my swim career to a four-year college. I could not imagine dedicating myself to any other sport; there is no other way I would want to spend my summers other than spending it at Ygnacio. Can’t wait to spend another summer on the Ygnacio pool deck and make more memories that will last forever!! Gooooo Ygnacio!!

Greetings young seahorses! My name is Coach Kai. This is my first year as a Ygnacio Wood swimmer coach and I couldn’t be more thrilled. I’ve been on this team for only a few years but Ygnacio has grown to be one big family for me. This will be my 15th year of swim team and I can’t wait to finally be able to pass on what I’ve learned to our speedy little seahorses so we can have a fun and successful year. Over my 15 years of swim I’ve had fantastic coaches that have built me into the person and swimmer I am today and I hope I can do the same for the seahorses of Ygnacio Wood. Coaching for my team has always been a dream of mine, and I think I can make a positive impact on the parents and children and help take our team to the next level. Go Ygnacio!

Hello all Seahorses! My name is Coach Olivia and I’m super excited to be apart of this great coaching staff this year! I am currently a senior at Northgate High School and will be graduating this June. I joined Ygnacio back in 2006 where I completed Seaponies and joined the team, and now I am participating in my last year as a swimmer. Since the moment I started on this team, I have always wanted to be a coach and words cannot describe how truly excited I am for this summer to start. Running the Seaponies Program last year has given me the experience on how to coach kids efficiently and I am now ready to take that knowledge a step further, as well as continuing to run the Seaponies program. I could not imagine spending my summers anywhere else but on the decks of Ygnacio! I am ready to start giving back to a team that has given me so much. I’ll see you all very soon!! Let’s go Ygancio!!
