Head Coach
Andrew Preston, Head Coach
I am very pleased and thankful to return to LT for an eighth year as Head Coach. It is also with great joy that I share we have been selected by the 2020 Species Selection Committee as the newest species of Seahorse: Hippocampus Las Trampas. Criteria used for consideration included our ability to move up the league top time rankings, the speed we use to race our opponents, the racing skills (starts, breakouts, turns and finishes) we have mastered, and our capability to finish a race ahead of the clock (a popped time).
I have coached competitive swimming for twenty years (recreation, USS, high school, and masters), and am confident that the goals I've established for the upcoming season will be achieved. These include, but are not limited to, the establishment of an environment in which everyone views themselves (and each other) as successful; enjoys being part of practice--and misses practice when not present; and experiences notable improvements in all areas of competitive swimming (stroke mechanics, racing skills, fitness level, time standards, and overall rank).
I have worked with children/young adults as a basketball coach & camp counselor (St. Stephens Parish), special education teacher (mild/moderate learning disabilities K-5 & severely/emotionally disturbed 6-12), adult education teacher (GED, High School Diploma, Conversational English & Algebra), ESL instructor (Republic of Yemen), and as an instructor for the American Red Cross (CPR & First Aid).
As a competitive swimmer, I swam ten years with the Walnut Creek Aquabears where I was a Junior National qualifier. I also was a NCS finalist (top 16) for one year and finalist (top 8) for two years (YVHS), a state semi-finalist for two years (DVC), and a NCAA Division 2 qualifier (CSU-Chico).
Assistant Coaches
Carly Coffee
Hi, my name is Carly Coffee and I am 17 years old. I have been swimming at LT since I was 3, and I am planning on swimming all the way through high school. My favorite strokes are backstroke and freestyle. I go to Acalanes High School where I swim and play volleyball. When I’m not at the pool, I like to hang out with my friends, go to the beach and eat Chipotle.
Kiki Henderson
Colin Porciuncula
I started swimming competitively for the first time when I was 14 at Las Trampas, which is really late compared to most who started swimming around the age of six. Over the next three years, I quickly caught up to my fellow swimmers and I am now currently one of the top butterfly swimmers on the team. I also swam for Acalanes Highschool on JV and just made Varsity this season. This Is my second season coaching for Las Trampas and my goal is to teach the techniques I have learned from my swimming experience to help everyone on the team improve their swimming.

When you hear summer home, many people think of Tahoe. I, and most other Seahorses, think of Las Trampas. LT has been my home since I was a mudskipper, when all I thought about was how when I was older, I wanted to be coach just like the ones I had. This year I’m so proud to finally achieve this dream in full! I’ve worked at the pool since I was 12, first as an in-the-water helper, as a mudskipper coach for 2 years, as a junior assistant coach, and now as an assistant coach. There, I got to dip my toes into coaching, focusing on small group and individual swimming development with the adorable 6 & unders. This year I’m so excited to work with more age-groups and help them find personal success and a warm and welcoming atmosphere where kids are excited to come to practice. And, of course, get that pop-time towel! I’m also stoked to be on the spirit/social team this year, with my personal focus to make connections with each of my seahorse teammates and make sure everyone has their best summer yet.
Junior Assistant Coaches
Ben Brekke
Hi Las Trampas! I’m Ben Brekke. I am 15 years old and I go to Acalanes High School. I have been a member of the Las Trampas pool for longer than I can remember and finally decided to join the swim team when I was 11. Every summer since then has consisted of getting better, learning new skills, and working as a team with the entire Las Trampas community. The family that has been built up over the years at Las Trampas is incredible and I am so proud to be a part of it. Las Trampas has influenced my life in so many positive ways, and I have created new and amazing friendships here. When not swimming at Las Trampas, I like to play sports such as football and hang out with my friends. My first experience with coaching at Las Trampas was being a mudskipper coach, which has helped me to learn new skills that will make me an even better Junior Assistant Coach. Overall, I am very excited to be working at Las Trampas! Go Seahorses!
Audrey Cox
Hi! My name is Audrey Cox and I am 15 years old. I’m currently a Sophomore at Acalanes High School and have been swimming for LT since I was 6 years old. Las Trampas has always been my happy place during the summer. Some of my favorite memories have been participating in home swim meets, team relays, and seeing my friends everyday at practice. Outside of swimming I love to read and play water polo.
Kiera Roux
Hi LT! My name is Kiera Roux and I am super excited to be returning to LT for my 10th season. I have been swimming here since I was 8, and am a Junior at Campolindo High School. For the past three years, I have been a mudskipper coach and lifeguard at the pool. The Seahorse family has defined my childhood, and I am looking forward to making it a special experience for other swimmers as well! I hope that we can make the rec swim experience as fun and inspiring as it has been for me this past decade. I am looking forward to seeing you all this summer!
Emma Uffelman
Hi, my name is Emma Uffelman and I am 15 years old and a sophomore at Acalanes High School. I have been swimming at LT since I was a 5 year old Mudskipper and love being part of the swim family. At Acalanes, I am on the swim team and run cross country in the fall. Some of my favorite things to do are hanging out with friends, traveling, and photography. I am also a photographer for the school newspaper, The Blueprint. I previously coached the Mudskippers and love being with kids. I am excited to work with the younger Seahorses as a Jr Coach this year, helping build their confidence. It seems like just yesterday that I was a nervous 6 & under, ready to start my race! I can't wait to see my summer family again! Go LT!
Mudskipper Head Coach
Andreas Ramirez
Hi LTST! My name is Andreas Ramirez. I am a 17 year old senior at Acalanes high school. I have been swimming for all my life, growing up swimming for Las Trampas. I really love that Las Tramps has given me the opportunity to imprint my skills that I learned to the next generation. I have a plethora of coaching experience, as I am also a registered ski instructor for Alpine Meadows. So besides swimming, I also like to ski and participate in activities outside. I look forward to seeing you all this summer. Go Seahorses!
