Clinic Overview

The LTST Spring Clinic will be held from Tuesday, March 16th - Saturday, April 17th, 2021.  Practice sessions will be offered on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

In order to establish stable cohorts of swimmers in a group, we will only offer a 4 day a week program for all swimmers.  The program will adhere to strict capacity limitations, so registration will close when we reach our maximum number of registrants.  Please register early to ensure you secure a spot!

Registration Timeline:

  • Tuesday, March 2nd at 8:00 AM: Registration opens to returning LTST families.
  • Wednesday, March 3rd: Registration opens to new LTST families.
  • Registration will close when we reach maximum headcount, or Saturday, March 20th at 6:00 PM - whichever comes first. A $50 Late Fee applies for those who wish to sign up after registration is closed (if spaces are available).
  • Registration fees will be non-refundable once registration closes.

Schedule

After registration closes, your child will be assigned to a balanced workout group based on age and ability.  We will consider the overall roster of swimmers who have registered before finalizing the practice schedule or assigning anyone to groups.  We cannot accommodate requests for specific practice times or specific friends to be together.

Important Information

  • Groups 1-4: A maximum of 20 swimmers will be in the water at each practice session, spread across 6 lanes of the pool.  Group 5: A maximum of 12 swimmers will be in this group.
  • The LT Spring Swim Clinic is designed to prepare swimmers for a competitive environment.  This is not a “learn to swim” program.  Coaches will not be in the water with swimmers.  To be eligible for this program, swimmers must be able to complete a 25-yard lap of freestyle unassisted.
  • Due to capacity restrictions, no parents, siblings, or spectators will be allowed to enter the pool deck.
  • Head Coach Andrew Preston will be leading the last three weeks of clinic (March 29-April 17).  The first 2 weeks of clinic will be led by our Assistant Coaches: Carly, Kiki and Katie.
  • A dedicated Covid-19 Monitor / Lifeguard will be on duty at all workouts.
  • There will be a 5 minute break between practice groups to allow the Covid-19 Monitor to disinfect all surfaces, shower handles and restrooms, and check the chemical levels in the pool.
  • Coaches and swimmers will maintain a minimum 6 feet of distance from one another at all times.
  • Swimmers will bring their own gear.  Please make sure that your swimmer is equipped with goggles, towel and water bottle.  Swim caps are required for all swimmers with hair that goes past the collar.
  • Swimmers must be able to put on their own goggles, carry their own belongings, and wrap themselves in their own towel at the end of practice.  Coaches will not be able to help swimmers with handling gear.  If you are concerned that your swimmer will be unable to manage his or her own goggles, please strongly consider whether this is the right program for your swimmer.
  • Swimmers must arrive dressed and ready to enter the pool.  Changing onsite is not allowed.
  • Swimmers will be required to wear a mask at all times while on LT property, unless actively working out.  Swimmers may remove their masks immediately before getting in the pool and must replace masks immediately after getting out of the pool.
  • Coaches will wear masks while on LT property except when actively leading a practice. This is to allow their voices to be heard. While on deck, coaches will remain at least 6 feet from any swimmer at all times. Coaches will wear a mask when entering and exiting pool gates and at any time when a 6 foot distance cannot be maintained.

Arrival and Departure Flow

Upon arrival:

  • Swimmers should arrive at Las Trampas property wearing a mask.  They will be greeted by the Lifeguard/Covid Monitor outside the west gate (next to Snack Shack).  They will then be directed to use the provided hand sanitizer on the way through the gate.
  • Each swimmer will be assigned to a lane and side of the pool (#1-6, North side vs. South side).  This lane assignment will apply for the duration of the 5-week clinic.
  • Swimmers will drop personal belongings at designated spots on the lawn.

Upon completion of practice, swimmers exit the pool, towel off, and collect personal belongings from the designated grass area.  Then swimmers put on their mask and exit the pool deck via the east (main) gate without delay, and without touching any surfaces.  Sanitizer will also be available at the exit. Swimmers must adhere to social distancing guidelines until they are safely inside personal vehicles.

Timeliness for drop-off and pickup will be essential to the success of this program.
