HEAD COACH - Jasmine Castillo (2012-Present)
 
Oakhurst Country Club is excited to announce that Jasmine is returning for a twelveth season as Head Swim Coach for the Oakhurst Country Club Orca Swim Team.  As Head Coach, she is responsible for the development, coaching and management of the Oakhurst Orca Swim Team.

Jasmine holds a Master’s of Science in Kinesiology. She swam competitively on scholarship for both San Francisco State University and the University of Texas Of The Permian Basin.  Jasmine was named the first out of state swim team captain for UTPB.  She has enjoyed many years of competitive swimming and sharing her passion for swimming with others.      

Jasmine has been coaching swimming for over twenty years ranging in levels from novice to collegiate.  In recent years (2007-2013 & 2015-2017) she has been the Head Swim Coach of Carondelet High School.  In 2010, under Jasmine’s direction, the Carondelet High School team was undefeated, North Coast Section champion and Swimming World Magazine’s National High School Team champion.  Jasmine has also been personally recognized as East Bay Women’s Swim Coach of the Year 2010 and California State Women’s Swim Coach of the Year 2011.  In 2013 Jasmine lead Carondelet High School to another North Coast Section championship, and was renamed East Bay Women's Swim Coach of the Year 2013.

Jasmine currently teaches at Carondelet High School, and enjoys her summer vacations coaching for the Oakhurst Orcas.  She is grateful to lead and be a part of this very special Orca family.           

 

 

ASSISTANT COACH- Tyler Brown  

Tyler is pumped for another great season on the Oakhurst Orcas swim team. This is his 1st year as an Assistant Coach.
 
Tyler started swimming as an Orca at the age of 4 and is now in his 13th year of competing.  He has been a county qualifier/finalist, MVP, record holder, and a five-star swimmer (making county qualifying times in all five strokes during a single season) during multiple seasons throughout his Orca career.  In 2019 Tyler was awarded the highest honor a swimmer can achieve, the prestigious Orca Award.
 
Tyler has been junior coaching for the Orcas over the past three years.  He is looking forward to supporting other Orca swimmers to achieve their goals by knocking his name off the record board. 
Academically, Tyler is in his Senior year at Tilden Preparatory and will be graduating in June 2023. Tyler is so excited to spend more time with his Orca Family this season before heading off to college.  

 

ASSISTANT COACH- Kelsey Macaulay

Kelsey is thrilled to be coming back to the Oakhurst family as an Assistant Swim Coach.  This is Kelsey's second year as an Assistant Swim Coach.

 

Kelsey started swimming for the Orcas at age 4 and completed her 13th season by aging out during the 2022 season as a member of the team.  She was a junior coach for 4 seasons, and has been a county qualifier numerous years in a row. Kelsey continued her swimming career at Carondelet High School as a JV/Varsity athlete all four years. Kelsey was awarded the Orca Award in 2019 which is the highest honor awarded to any swimmer on our team. 

Academically, Kelsey graduated from Carondelet High School in 2022. She is currently going into her sophomore year at Vanderbilt University in Fall 2023.  

 

 

ASSISTANT COACH - Grace Pugh aka (Coach Gracie) 

Gracie is excited to enter her first season with the Orca family as an Assistant Swim Coach.

Gracie started swimming at age 5 for the Springwood Sprinters before transistioning to the Orca family. She was a country qualifier and finalist several years in a row, then aged out as a member of the Oakhurst Orcas during her 13th season in 2022. Gracie swam varsity and played varsity water polo at Clayton Valley High School, then earned a scholarship to play collegiate water polo at Azusa Pacific University where she played for one season.  Gracie then transfered colleges and now attends Clemson University as a Division 1 rower.

Academically, Gracie graduated from Clayton Valley Charter High School in June 2021 as a 4-year member of the Public Service Academy. She completed her freshman year at Azusa Pacific University, her sophomore year at Clemson University, and will enter her junior year at Clemson in the fall of 2023. She is ecstatic to be joining the Oakhurst Coahing staff this season and is looking forward to building strong relationships with every member of the Orca family.  

 

 

ASSISTANT COACH - Grace Smith

Grace is delighted to be coming back to the Oakhurst family as an Assistant Swim Coach.  This is Grace's fourth year as an Assistant Swim Coach.  

Grace started swimming at the age of 4 for the Oakhurst Orcas and completed her 13th season by aging out during the 2021 season as a member of the team.  She was a junior coach for four seasons, and has been an Orca county qualifier/finalist 11 years in a row. Grace continued her swimming career at Clayton Valley High School as a Varsity athlete all four years, and a DAL Championship finalist each year.  She has been an Orca age-group MVP for the past 11 seasons, and was awarded the Orca Award in 2016 which is the highest honor awarded to any swimmer on our team. 

Academically, Grace graduated from Clayton Valley Charter High School as a member of the Public Service Academy in June 2021.  She is currently going into her junior year at University of Georgia in Fall 2023.  Grace is thrilled to continue her role as an Assistant Coach for the Orca family and is looking forward to another memorable season.
