Assistant Coach–Dan McGrain

You might recognize Dan from his many years spent as an assistant manager at York Manor. After a great 2022 summer swim season, Dan is excited to be returning to the pool deck. Dan grew up in the Towson area, swimming and coaching for another Free State swim team that we won't name here. He then went on to coach with the Columbia Clippers and their Elite, Age Group 1 and Masters programs. Outside of his summers, Dan is a social studies teacher at Archbishop Spalding High School in Severn. Dan is also a father to three–ages 9, 8, and 6 –who are all part of the Makos team.

Assistant Coach–Avery Zellweger

Avery is a rising junior at the University of Maryland, College Park, and is so excited to be home at York Manor as an official coach! Avery swam for the Makos from age 6-18 and was a Junior Coach during her last year on the team. She was also a lifeguard the past three summers at YMSC and gave private swim lessons throughout the summer. Avery is so excited and cannot wait for another season with the Makos!
