Who We Are - RSST is a 501(c)(3) non-profit youth team competing within the Frederick Summer Swim League.  Our mission is to provide recreational and competitive youth swimmers with an opportunity to enhance personal fitness, improve swim stroke technique, cultivate a sense of teamwork, make friends, and have fun.  The team is led by parent volunteers and a paid coaching staff who lead local youth through daily practices and conditioning to help them develop into stronger swimmers and prepare them for weekly swim meets.  The two month season is traditionally capped off by a league-wide FSSL All-Star meet and team banquet at the end of July. Practices are held daily and meets are typically held on Saturday mornings with some exceptions for weeknight meets – see events/calendar.

Swim Team Eligibility - Our team is open to the public:  members and non-members of The Ridge Swim Club are able to join the team! The swimmer must not be older than 19 on June 1 of the current year, and MUST be able to swim 25 meters freestyle independently PRIOR to joining the swim team (read more). Swimmers and their families must comply with regulations, obligations and responsibilities covered in the team handbook/code of conduct and rules of the Ridge Swim Club.

Registration - Registration will occur on-line, please see the website for open/close dates (generally April 15 to June 1).  Completed registrations require form agreements, meet obligation/volunteer sign-ups and all fees are paid at time of registration via credit/debit card.

  • Registration may close prior to the last date if the team capacity has been reached.
  • For insurance liability purposes, your swimmer is NOT allowed in the pool or to participate with the team until fees and online registration is completed. 
  • There are NO refunds after Time Trials, unless a physician certifies a medical condition. Refunds are prorated from the first day of RSST practice. The registration fee and late fees are non-refundable.

Non-Refundable Registration Fee: $25 per registration processed
Non-Refundable Late Fee (when applicable, see calendar): $25 per swimmer

Parent-Meet Volunteer Commitment: $200 (not charged if you meet your volunteer requirement)

Note: Multi-swimmer discounts apply only when registering swimmers in the same family together on one registration at the same time.  Registration fee of $25 applies with each registration instance.  Register your family together! 

Parent Volunteer / Meet Agreement - We rely on volunteers for our team to function!  Please visit the parent volunteering information under documents to understand your commitment to parent volunteering. 

Communication - It is essential that you maintain verified email addresses within my account and regularly check your e-mail & our online calendar/website to keep up-to-date. We squeeze a lot in during a short, fast, two month season and need to keep everyone informed.

Team Suits & Apparel - Your swimmer will need a practice suit, a RSST team suit, swim cap, goggles, and swim fins. 

Parent Meetings - Please plan to attend a mandatory General Meeting for parents and swimmers on at the start of the season, at the Ridge Swim Club pavilion. Also, an end of season General Meeting will be held at the swimmers' Awards Banquet to vote for next years’ Board of Directors. Please see news, calendar/events on the website for dates.
