Aquatic Director

Daniel Christmas has been working at the Gordon JCC since 2016 as the Aquatics Director. Daniel grew up in Georgia and graduated from the University of Georgia. He has been in the aquatics field for over 10 years, starting in college by working at a local camp as a lifeguard and camp counselor.

Daniel eventually began training and managing lifeguards and took on a bigger role in aquatics, leading him to move to Nashville after college and work more in the aquatics field, training lifeguards, teaching swim lessons, and eventually becoming an aquatics director.

Daniel has always loved working in and around the water and loves sharing that with others that enjoy the water, whether that be learning to swim, swimming, or working around the water themselves.

While it is ironic that a guy with the last name Christmas works at a Jewish community center, Daniel loves working here because of the strong sense of community, and he strives to make the aquatics department better and better each year. So stop by the pool! Daniel loves for people to come share his love of the pool, especially those little swimmers just developing their love for the pool.
