Sarah Fortney Head Coach

Sarah (McCall) Fortney swam for 11 years with Pilot Aquatic Club (now Tennessee Aquatics).  In her time with Pilot, she was a senior national qualifier in 4 events and a 6-time Tennessee State High School Champion (Bearden).  Sarah went on to swim for the University of Tennessee from 2005-2009 where she was a 400 IM and 200 Breaststroke specialist.  In 2009, Sarah was named "Miss Tennessee", awarded to a student-athlete for success in academics, athletics, and service in the community.  Sarah currently serves on the University of Tennessee Lettermen's Board.  Sarah has coached for the past 15 summers with GKAISA.  She coached at Bearden High School from 2009-2013, and she served as the Outreach Coordinator for Tennessee Aquatics teaching learn-to-swim for children with special needs serving inner city youth through a partnership with the Emerald Youth Foundation from 2013-2016.  This will be Sarah's10th summer with the Village Green Gators.  Sarah currently works as an elementary Speech-Language Pathologist and is employed with Knox County Schools.  She serves on the Board of Directors for Reach Them to Teach Them, a non-profit devoted to inspiring educators.  Sarah is married to former Vol swimmer, Stephen Fortney, and has one little boy, Graham.  She enjoys running, hanging out with friends and family, and of course dancing!  She is looking forward to another fabulous summer!

Corey Olson Assistant Coach

Corey is excited to return for her sixth year as a Village Green Gator coach! Corey started swimming year round in the first grade with her club swim team, J-Hawk Aquatic Club in Whitewater, Wisconsin. She continued to swim year round for 11 years. From 2007-2012 Corey attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point where she swam collegiately. Corey’s coaching career began 12 years ago in Wisconsin where she coached USA swim teams, YMCA and high school swim teams. Here in Knoxville, Corey previously coached with West High School from 2014-2016 and and has been the Head Coach of the Farragut Middle School Swim Team since 2017. Corey also serves on the Knoxville Interscholastic Swim League (KISL) board since 2017. Corey has trained swimmers ages 5 to 20 years old, two Olympic trial athletes, coached several swim clinics, and taught over 200 children to swim either through individual lessons or learn-to-swim programs. In 2015 Corey graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Masters Degree in Social Work. In addition to coaching Corey works full time as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Play Therapist at the Vine School Health Center. Corey and her husband welcomed their daughter, Marci Jean, into the world just a few months ago, and Corey can't wait to share all her favorite things about Village Green summers with her baby girl!

Jessie Stephens Assistant Coach

Jessie is really excited to be spending her sixth summer as a Village Green Gator Coach! Jessie was a GKAISA swimmer growing up, and she always loved being a part of a swim team. Jessie was a high school standout soccer player at Farragut High School where she was named All-State, All-KIL, All-Region, and All-District. Jessie continued her soccer career playing collegiately for Carson Newman University as a defender from 2006-2010. Jessie currently is in her 8th year of teaching first grade and is at Farragut Primary School. Jessie is currently an assistant coach with both the boys and girls soccer teams at Farragut High School. She is really looking forward to a fun and exciting summer here at Village Green!

Josh Lucheon Assistant Coach

Coach Josh will be with us at meets and most Fridays this year!  This year will be his ninth year coaching at VG after swimming at Village Green for 2 years. As a swimmer, Josh broke 3 city meet records at VG, was a high school state qualifier at Knoxville Catholic, and a NCAA D3 Honorable Mention All-American at Carnegie Mellon University. He graduated 6 years ago from CMU with an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering and works in Oak Ridge at Y-12. He also is an assistant swim coach with Knoxville Catholic High School. Josh enjoys backstroke, working out, golfing, watching sports, and food. Go Gators Go!

Matt Dovgan Assistant Coach

Matt is really excited to help coach the Village Green Gators again this summer!  He swam for 8 years with Pilot Aquatic Club (now Tennessee Aquatics).  Matt was a four year letterman for the Knoxville Catholic High School Swim Team.  His senior year, he was named the "Irishman of the Year" and was awarded the  Anita Dinwiddie College Scholarship.   Matt swam for the 2015 Village Green Gators and placed 1st in the Men's 100 Backstroke at the Smoky Mountain Meet.  Matt attends Creighton University and plans to be a Chemistry Major.  Matt loves to swim, hike, ski, golf, and play tennis.  Go Village Green Gators!

Kamila Nosarzewski Assistant Coach

Kamila Nosarzewski swam 5 years for Village Green while also swimming for Tennessee Aquatics.  Kamila was a letterman all four years for Knoxville Catholic Swim Team and was also the Captain of the team her senior year. Kamila is currently finishing up her junior year at the University of Tennessee, majoring in Kinesiology with a Pre-Med track. She was the 2017 recipient of the Tom Schumann Scholarship award last year at the GKAISA City Meet. She has competed with both USA swimming and Para-swimming for 4 years now and plans on continuing to train as she has the goal of making the US Paralympics team. She represented the Southeastern Zone at the Zone Championships in 2016 and 2017. Kamila also competed in the Paralympics World Trials where she represented the USA. Kamila worked alongside Sarah Fortney teaching learn-to-swim for children with special needs serving inner city youth through a partnership with the Emerald Youth Foundation from 2013-2016. She is currently coaching for Tennessee Aquatics as a foundations coach for the stroke and technique swim clinics at the YMCA. Kamila has always had VG close to her heart and cannot wait for this summer with the kids!

Abby Severns Assistant Coach

Abby Severns swam for Village Green for 12 years, and she also swam for Farragut High School.  She placed first overall in the 50 freestyle two years in a row, and made it to City Finals every year that she swam.  Abby also was a rower for Atomic Rowing in Oak Ridge and was captain of the team her senior year.  She is currently a student at the University of Tennessee and enjoys working out, hanging out with friends, and the outdoors.  Abby is so excited about coaching for Village Green this second summer!

Devon Collins Assistant Coach

Devon Collins swam with Village Green for 8 years. At Farragut High School, he was a four year letterman and state finalist for their swim team. He also participated at Tennessee Aquatics for 8 years. He is currently enrolled as a Computer Science major at Carson Newman University, where he is also a part of the swim team. Devon loves reading, learning new things, and of course, swimming! He is so excited to be coaching his second summer at Village Green!

Gavin Clower Assistant Coach

Gavin has been a Village Green Gator since he was 7 years old and is very excited to return this year as an Assistant Coach! Besides VG, Gavin also swam for Farragut High School for 6 seasons where he was an Academic All-American in Swimming, a state qualifier in the 100 butterfly and co-captain his senior year. Gavin was also a recipient of the Bill Lauer Service Award Scholarship Award through GKAISA this past year. Currently, Gavin is a rising sophomore at the University of Michigan, where he is studying Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. Other than swimming, Gavin enjoys fishing, camping, boating, and hanging out with friends. Go Gators!!! 

Grayson Clower Assistant Coach
Grayson has been a Village Green Gator for 11 seasons and is thrilled to return for his 12th as an Assistant Coach! This past school year, Grayson helped Coach Corey, as an assistant coach, lead the Farragut Middle School Swim & Dive Team to their 2nd City Championship. Besides swimming for VG, Grayson also swam 6 seasons for Farragut High School where he was a 3 year letterman, state qualifier, Co-Captain, and named Academic All-American in Swimming. Grayson was also a recipient of the Bill Lauer Service Award Scholarship through GKAISA. Grayson is currently a rising sophomore at The University of Tennessee, majoring in Neuroscience. Besides swimming, Grayson enjoys hiking, rock climbing and being a die hard Vol Fan! Grayson’s favorite strokes are freestyle and breaststroke! GO GATORS GO!!
