Gearing up for the 2022 Swim Season!

Hammerheads Admin

Hello Hammerhead Families!

It’s hard to believe that in a few short months the pool will be open and the kids will be swimming their hearts out! As we gear up for the 2022 season, we wanted to share some important information.

2022 Board

We are pleased to announce our 2022 Board Members!

President : Amy Hollinger

Communications : Erin Wolf, Amanda Ellerman, Veronica Ayla-Sims

Finance : HP Updike

Fundraising : Alexis Tompkins

As previously announced, our new  Swim Directors  are Erika Holson and Shawn Peay and our  Parent Advisory Committee  consists of Rachelle Peay, Melanie and Chris Pontier, Scott Tompkins and Jay Wolf.

Our goal is to work together to create a great season for our kids and we are committed to be transparent and clearly communicate all expectations to you, our wonderful families!

Preparation for the 2022 Season

We are planning to open Registration in late March/early April and hope to be able to offer an “early bird” discount/swag for those who sign up within the first few weeks. More information to come, but look for an email soon with additional information.

We will be doing in-person swim meets this year! While this is really exciting, we will need volunteers to fill positions at every meet. While we haven’t historically gotten a lot of interest in volunteer positions, we also realize that we can do a much better job of explaining what the positions are, what they require, and how much time commitment is needed. More information (and training videos!) to come, but we cannot have a successful season without YOU!

Depending on the neighborhood that you reside in (and if you are on social media), you may have seen a post regarding coaches. We are hiring for all coaching positions this year, and while we have some great candidates already, we would love to hear from you if you know of any teenagers, college students, teachers, etc with swim experience who are looking for a summer job!

Back by popular demand, we will be offering both morning AND evening practices (after school ends)! We are also discussing practice times to find the right length and start/end times for our different age groups.

New this year: the Honey Meadows HOA will be allowing the purchase of outside pool memberships!  This means that non-HM residents can apply for membership to have full use of the pool for the whole family.  We're hearing that slots may be limited but details have not been finalized, so we will keep you posted!

We realize this is a lot of information but we are excited for what this season will bring! If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please reach out to  [email protected]  and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Thank you!
