Currently, the number of people allowed in the swimming pool and on the deck area at any one time is limited to 50% of pool capacity. To accomodate
this reduced capacity, we are utilizing an online reservation system. Members must sign up to reserve open swim time. Open swim is 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM daily.

About Swim and Dive Team

Who Can Join? Returning Members First

Although there will be no dual meets, invitationals, or an All-City Swim Meet in 2020 due to COVID-19 concerns, High Point will still offer some form of Swim and Dive Team for our Pirates!  Having our beloved All City season cancelled due to COVID-19 was devastating, but we are hoping that we will be able to lessen that disappointment in some fashion.

We know there are many questions about how this will look. We are working to come up with a plan that allows everyone to practice in a safe manner. This means that both the schedule and the practices will look different and we need to think outside of the box.

Here are a few details we know right now:

  • Due to social distancing rules there will be limits to the number of kids allowed at each practice. Initially, registration will be open for RETURNING team members only.
  • Returning families must register by Friday, June 5th.
  • Once we know how many returning kids will participate, sign-ups will open on for NEW members on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • All swimmers must be able to independently swim 25 meters, since we will not be able to have coaches in the pool to assist kids.
  • Team fees will remain the same as last year.
  • Practices will look very different than in the past in terms of length of time and frequency.
  • Evening practices will not be offered, but we plan to utilize the pool 7 days a week.
  • Practices will continue into August, rather than ending at the end of July as in a typical summer.
  • Practices will begin on Monday, June 15th.
The priority right now is to figure out how many swimmers and divers are interested, given the knowledge that this will look different. Then we can put together the practice schedule within our attendance and space constraints.

We plan to announce the practice schedule by June 10. If, after seeing the plan, you no longer wish to participate, you may cancel your registration and receive a refund, as long as you do so by Friday June 12th.
