Jon Jung Head Swim Coach

Coach Jon started working at Hawks Landing in 2009.  He grew up on the west side of Madison, and swam at Ridgewood, the YMCA, and one year at Madison Memorial.  He is currently a first grade teacher at Stephens Elementary and also coaches for Badger Aquatics Swim Team.!  When Jon is not at the pool, he spends his time fishing, working on projects, or playing with his dog, Brody.  Jon has enjoyed ALL of his years at Hawks and is looking forward to this upcoming summer.

Roark Lundal Head Dive Coach

Roark is excited to return to Hawks as the head dive coach this summer (after a hiatus last summer due to the pandemic) for his 5th year of coaching diving for our team.  Roark grew up swimming & diving for Hawks (joining the team at age 6).  Roark will graduate from Xavier University in December and begin his MBA.  He is a member of the Xavier Men's swim team and helped them win their 3rd consecutive Big East Conference Championship in April. Roark looks forward to connecting with former divers and getting more kids involved with the program.  Hawks Fly!

Ella DeFever Swim Coach

This will be Ella’s second year coaching at Hawks! She has been swimming for Hawks Landing and Badger Aquatics for 10+ years, and she also swam on the JMM swim team for 4 years. She will be swimming and studying Nursing in the fall at Minnesota State University. When she is not swimming she enjoys running, spending time with friends/family, and traveling. Ella is excited to meet everyone and get the season started!

Gabby Gnewuch Swim Coach

Gabby’s first swim team experience was in 2007 competing for Hawks, and she has loved the sport ever since!  She graduated from Verona Area High School in 2019 where she was part of the Verona Area Mount Horeb women’s swim team, and qualified for the WIAA Division 1 State Meet every year she was on the team.  During her high school years she swam for Madison Aquatic Club.  Gabby is currently part of the swim team at Grand Valley State University located outside of Grand Rapids, Michigan.  She could not be more excited for her first season of coaching!

Abigail Reid Swim Coach

Abby first joined Hawks swim team in 2009 and has been working at the pool for the past 3 years.  She has swim with Badger Aquatics Club for the past 12 years, and for the Edgewood Crusaders for 3 years.  Abby will be a senior at Edgewood High School in the fall, where she will compete in her final season with the team, coming off their 6th straight WIAA state title!  She is planning to swim in college at the University of Wisconsin.  Abby is super excited for her first year coaching!

Gianna Gnewuch Swim Coach

This will be Gianna's first summer coaching at Hawks!  She has been club swimming the past 11 years.  This year, Gianna graduated from Verona Area High School where she was a varsity swimmer.  This fall, she will be attending UW-Whitewater and will be part of the swim team.  Gianna is excited for the upcoming season!

Dana Huggett Dive Coach

Dana is very excited to be the assistant dive coach at Hawks this summer. She has been on the dive team for ten years, this will be her eleventh season competing and first season coaching. Dana will be graduating Middleton High School this June and continuing her education at Ripon College in the fall. When she is not at Hawks, Dana enjoys thrifting, playing with her dogs and spending time outdoors. She cannot wait for the start of the season to see all of the returning divers and welcome all of the new faces!
