Dear Swimmers and Parents,

I hope all of you are safe and healthy!  I'm excited to return for my 35th season overall at Heatherfield and 23rd as head coach!  The past year has been long and challenging as we’ve all faced the new realities of the pandemic, but we are excited to swim again this summer!  As of now, the MPSL is planning on having dual meets again, with a decision on championship meets to be made later (likely around July 1).

We’ve partnered with Team Unify to help us create a new website (which debuted last summer) and team database that will allow for many exciting new features, including online meet declarations, online meet entries for invitationals, online team calendar, improved communication (including text messages), and more.

After our great experience swimming at Penn Colonial pool last summer, we have decided to move there permanently.  The availability of the Heatherfield pool remains in question, and regardless of that Penn Colonial is a better facility for us – it offers a lot more space around the pool area, a diving well, friendly management who wants us to be there, a large parking lot that we can actually use, and the ability to have parents inside the gates during practices.  We are excited to continue our partnership with Penn Colonial and thank them for their hospitality!

Heatherfield is much more than a swim team – it’s a family!  Competitive swimming at Heatherfield is a great way to make new friends, improve technique, endurance, and speed, and build confidence.  We compete at the highest level of the MPSL and push swimmers to improve and maximize their potential without losing sight of another important goal:  having fun!   We strive to ensure that each swimmer, young or "old," expert or beginner, has a positive experience.

Please visit our website (www.swimheatherfield.org) regularly for more information and updates.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me anytime.  See the next page for more details and benefits of Heatherfield swimming.     See you at the pool!

Sincerely,

Justin Spitzer, Head Coach
