Please read carefully the health and safety rules for our practices:

These rules and procedures mirror the procedures recommended by the State of California and are intended to keep all our swimmers, families, and staff safe as we begin our 2020 Winter Swim.

Before you leave your residence, please do a self-screening of your child for any covid-19 symptoms or possible exposure to covid-19.

The possible symptoms and exposure risks to consider are:

*   Have you had a fever within the last 24 hours?

*   Have you had a cough or sore throat in the last 24 hours?

*   Have you had any vomiting or diarrhea is the last 24 hours?

*   Have you had direct exposure to a known COVID-19 patient?

*   Have you had unexplained fatigue, body aches, or headaches in the last 24 hours?

*   Have you lost your sense of smell or taste?

*   Is anyone in your residence displayed symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 14 days?

If you can answer ‘yes’ to any of these questions, please do not attend practice, and contact a physician for advice.

All swimmers should arrive at HVST wearing their swimsuit, mask, and with their swim cap on (if they wear a cap).  Please remind each swimmer that they should stay 6 feet apart from all other swimmers once exiting their vehicle.

Our first day of swim practice is about setting new protocols for social distancing. In many ways, we are all sailing on uncharted waters with respect to how effectively teach swimming while keeping everyone at safe distances.

Protocols for Safety at the Phase I pool

1.    No spectators allowed on deck.

2.    Children will enter through the West gate (Next to the Swim office)

3.    Children will exit through the East gate (next to the barbecues)

4.    Children must have masks on when they enter the pool facility.

5.    We will have a lifeguard in place at the entrance to help enforce these rules.

6.    Once a group is done, they must exit the pool completely before the next group can begin to enter the pool deck.

7.    Hand sanitizer will be offered at the front entrance of the pool.

8.    Cones will be in place with 6 feet of separation at both ends of the pool, and in the staging area. -The cones will hopefully give the kids a visual aid in where they should be standing while on deck.

9.    Every practice will begin by talking with each group about the importance of social distancing while at the pool.

10. The coaches and lifeguards will continuously remind the athletes of keeping their 6-foot space throughout the practice.

11. Swim Bags/ Belongings will be spaced out on the deck at 6-foot increments.

Please arrive on time for practice. Late swimmers will not be allowed to enter the facility.

Each swimmer will be given a designated spot on the deck to leave their belongings and their coach will direct them to the lanes assigned to their practice group.

Each age group is seperated by a 15 minute frame in order to give time/distance to all swimmers.

The health of our swimmers and coaches are our main priority so we strongly recomend no spectators on deck, if for some reason you need to be on deck we please ask you to wear a mask and practice social distancing.

The restrooms will be available.  Swimmers should wash their hands with soap before and after they use the restrooms.
