Lee Graham Swim Team

Team Activities:

Lee Graham prides itself on its fun family community. While the Dolphins take swimming seriously, we are even more dedicated to making the team fun for all members. To help encourage this fun team environment, the Lee Graham Swim Team will host several social events throughout the summer. All team members are welcome and encouraged to come out to these events, have some fun, and get to know the people that make our community the best in the Northern Virginia Swim League.  Parent volunteers are always needed and welcome!

PLEASE NOTE ACTIVITES FOR 2022 MAY BE MODIFIED DUE TO COVID.  PLEASE CHECK THE EVENTS CALENDAR.

Awards Banquet & Lock in

Our end-of-season dinner and awards night is for all swimmers, families, and coaches. The slide show provided by our own Dolphins Photographers is always a crowd favorite!  Night swimming, camping out at the pool, and a wee hours game of Capture the Flag are the highlights!

Coin Toss

A highly entertaining activity (to participate in as well as watch!) for our 12 and under swimmers. Our Dolphins clammer for sunken treasure (coins)

Fun Fridays

All swimmers meet at 9AM on Fridays during the season for a fun team bonding “practice” filled with weekly themes such as rafts, tie dye, a service project, pancake breakfast, coin toss, greased watermelon, etc.  Don’t be surprised to see some belly flop competitions, ridiculous relays, and of course a few games of Sharks and Minnows.

Greased Watermelon

While our 12 and under swimmers search for coins in the trap pool, our 13 and up swimmers play some slippery games with a greased watermelon.  Laughter is promised.

Ice Cream Social:

After a B meet (usually with our local friends at High Point Pool), we host or are hosted for an ice cream social.  Ice cream with lots of toppings…or toppings with a little ice cream underneath.

Lollipop meet

A fun meet for our youngest swimmers put on by our oldest swimmers.  Lollipops are given are rewards and it’s the loudest cheering you’ll hear all season.

Pancake Breakfast

During one of the Fun Fridays, the teens will gather to cook pancakes for the younger team members.  Families donate juice and toppings and watching the pancake art is highly entertaining.

Pasta dinner

Before the first A meet of the year, the team and families gather at the club house for carbohydrates to get ready for the first big meet.

Potluck dinners

On the Friday before A meets, the team will often host a potluck dinner in the clubhouse.  Families bring food to share and kids and parents alike get to socialize!

Service project

During one of the Fun Fridays, the team works together to do a service project.  The last few years this has been donating school supplies and stuffing backpacks for local school children in need.

Team Lunches

Following A Home Meets at Lee Graham, lunch is provided for swimmers and their families.

Team Outings:

Every season we try to do 1-2 events away from the pool for our swimmers.  Previous events have included bowling, a Nationals game, King’s dominion, laser tag, and ropes courses.  A fun way to socialize and try to recognize people without swimsuits and swim caps on!

12 & under movie afternoons in the clubhouse

Bring a blanket or towel to sit on and meet in the LG clubhouse for an afternoon movie with popcorn included.

13+ Progressive Dinner

A special evening for our teenage swimmers to don their fancy attire and have a night out together in a more formal environment. All swimmers who swim in the 13 and over groups are invited to attend.
