Summer's End - Musica Viva Kentlands

Emily Lilyestrom

This is an amazing community we live in - the Kentlands.  And we often come together to celebrate - whether it be over the summer as a Kingfish parent or through out the year, participating in the many events we offer, as a community - such as Musica Viva Kentlands.  This Saturday, September 18th at 6:00 pm, on the Clubhouse lawn, Musica Viva will be performing.  So come out with family and friends, listen to the beautiful music, and celebrate the end of what was a spectacular summer.

The concert will begin with Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings - probably the most beloved piece for a string orchestra - with four movements that explore a wide range of feelings. Several of Leroy Anderson's favorites will be part of the repertoire, including Belle of the Ball and Fiddle Faddle. Alessandra Cuffaro, violinist, will do two solos as part of the Prelude in E Major, a wonderful piece composed by Bach and arranged for orchestra by Fritz Kreisler, and the beloved Cantabile by Paganini. And as always, there will be a song or two involving audience participation, so be prepared to perform!

For anyone who would prefer to attend remotely or if you want to share the concert with anyone out of town, we are pleased to also be live streaming this concert. Please sign up here ahead of time to receive the link and we look forward to seeing you virtually!
