Happy New Year Kingfish fams! Without further ado, we'd like to share the BIG news!
2023 Kingfish NEW Head Coaching Staff
We are thrilled to announce our new coaching staff! Please welcome:
Head Coach, Dani Falco
As our former Kingfish Assistant Head Coach, Dani brings strong working knowledge of our swimmers and spirit, as well as our processes. She has assisted with meet line-ups, instructed on form and technique, and supported our Assistant Coaches and CITs. Currently, Dani instructs the Montgomery Swim and Turn Clinic. She enthusiastically accepted the role as Head Coach to lead our team through another exciting season!
Assistant Head Coach, Erin Currier
At Nation’s Capital Swim Club, Erin currently runs the Bronze 3 program (age 8 & under-- many of our Kingfish!), including planning and leading practices with a focus on teaching proper swimming technique, good sportsmanship and motivating swimmers. In addition, she assists with all age groups in Bronze 1, Bronze 2, Silver, and Gold. She has coached or instructed swimmers from preschool to adults looking to improve their swim skills.
Assistant Coach & CIT Positions Open
We are accepting applications for our 2023 coaching staff positions and will be interviewing for Assistant Coaches and Coaches in Training (CITs, not paid/SSL hours offered). Given the current size projections for the team, we are planning to have 4 Assistant Coaches.
- A Coaching Committee will be formed, comprised of 5-6 parents who have knowledge of swimming, coaching, the Kingfish or ideally all of the above. Coaching Committee members are asked to interview all applicants and share their feedback on candidates with our Head Coach, Dani, who will make final hiring decisions.
If you would like to participate on the Coaching Committee, you must be able to attend in person the interviews during the afternoons of Saturday, March 4th and Sunday March 5th. Please contact Yolanda Goettsch at [email protected] if you want to be considered for the committee by February 14.

Little Kingfish Volunteer Needed
Would you like to help out with our Little Kingfish program? We are in need of a volunteer to shadow Kim Sepanik for the upcoming season. Duties include assisting in organizing the volunteer coaches, coordinating practices, and stepping in to run the program for 1 week. The shadow would earm all required volunteer hours, and take this role in preparation to assume Kim's position in the future. Please contact Mimi Zaw-Pham at [email protected] if you are interested.
