A Salute to Our Graduates – Summer 2021 Dare I say a spectacular day for what would be a spectacular meet? Wait, you say? We didn’t win – the final score was Kentlands - 367, River Falls - 419. I suppose that would appear to most readers as a loss. But today we got to salute our 2021 graduates. We got to see every swimmer on this team commit themselves to achieving victory for these graduates. And in the end, a mere loss in points was eclipsed by the spectacular...

To The Parents In case you missed it, the Wednesday night B meet was cancelled by Lakelands due to weather. And since we didn’t swim, I thought that perhaps this might be a good time to thank all of the people that make Wednesday night meets possible. A herculean task, to say the least, that can be underappreciated because the event often runs effortlessly – unless of course Mother Nature decides to intervene. Grant Cheung and Susan Lau – thank you! Thankless hours getting the meet scheduled, and then once...

All Hail Zeus Week 3 – Saturday morning, time to line up in front of Rachel Carson ES for the caravan to Merrimack Park. Maybe because it was our second caravan or maybe because it was a spectacular morning with clear blue skies, low humidity, and a chill in the air – whatever it was it made the gods and goddesses emerge from their horse powered carriages, just long enough to check their togas, adjust their laurel wreathed crowns, and tighten their golden belts. As the caravan departed – well...

95 Degrees At The Start Hot doesn’t begin to describe the evening. How hot was it? A mere 95 degrees at 5:00 pm. No breeze. Clothes sticking like those reusable sticker books we played with as a child; the orange tape melting as it clung to the metal poles; and, swimmers warming up in water that felt like a hot tub at a luxury hotel. But it was Wednesday night – which meant time for a B meet. The program was a full one – one glance and many thought...
