2021 Coaching Staff
Brian Kilner Head Coach

Brian can’t believe this will already be his 3rd year as head coach of the Nessies!  Brian previously served as a junior coach, assistant coach, and assistant head coach for the Nessies and has coordinated the private lessons program at Inverness for the past four years.  Additionally, Brian swam for the Nessies for fourteen summers.

Brian graduated from Gonzaga College High School in 2016, where he rowed on the crew team all four years, and he graduated from The University of Scranton in May 2020 with degrees in Biochemistry, Environmental Science, and Philosophy. Brian is currently studying for his Masters in Chemistry at American University, and he will begin his teaching career in the Fall as a Science Teacher at Gonzaga College High School.

Brian looks forward to bringing his competitive and fun spirit to the Nessies this summer and hopes to make this summer memorable and fun for swimmers of all ages!

Elisa Zoltick Assistant Coach

Elisa is beyond excited to return to the Nessies for her third year as a coach and 11th year as a Nessie swimmer.  She is a rising senior at Winston Churchill High School and a member of the Varsity Swim and Dive team. Elisa is looking forward to an amazing season and is especially excited about meeting the new swimmers!

Stephanie Zoltick Assistant Coach

Stephanie is excited to return to the pool this year to begin her tenth season as a Nessie and third year as a coach. Stephanie is a rising senior at Winston Churchill High School and swims on the Varsity Swim and Dive team. She also swims for RMSC‘s NTG year round. Stephanie looks forward to making many, many more memories this summer with each and every Nessie. 

Charles Denney Junior Coach

Charlie is excited to return for his second year coaching with the Nessies this upcoming summer as an Junior Coach. He is a returning for his 10th year on the Nessies, and has been voted most spirited Nessie and most improved Nessie in the past.  While he now focuses on other sports in the fall and spring, Charlie previously swam year-round with ASA.  He looks forward to helping teach young and new Nessies as well as promoting spirit and continuing the summer hype.

Myer Brookhart Coach-In-Training

Myer is 13 years old and has been swimming with the Nessies for 7 years. In the past he has swam for YMCA. He is looking forward to morning practices and working with the younger age groups.

Julio Cupe Coach-in-Training

Julio is looking forward to his 9th year as a Nessie and his first year as a Nessie Coach-in-Training. Julio swims year round for RMSC since 2015, he is a rising  eighth grader at Cabin John Middle School. He enjoys being part of MCYO where he plays the Cello with the Young Artist Orchestra . He is more than excited for this summer and for all the fun times with the swimming with the Nessies while helping with practices and during meets as a coach in training, he looks forward to help young Nessies to become strong swimmers.

Elaine Denney Coach-in-Training

Elaine is so excited to be starting her 10th year with the Nessies and first as a coach-in-training. Next year she will be an 8th grader at Cabin John Middle School, but until then she is looking forward to making many more amazing memories with the Nessies over the summer. 

Laila Specht Coach-in-Training

Laila is looking forward to her first year as a Coach-in-Training. She is going into eighth grade at Cabin John Middle School and is returning for her 7th year as a Nessie swimmer. In the past she swam for ASA and has taken stroke and turn clinics with multiple programs. She is excited to work with the other coaches, help many Nessies and make even more memories.
