Ryan Burnsky Co-Head Swim Coach
Coach Burnsky was very excited to join the Tanterra Tarpons in their 2016 season.  He swam with the Olney Mill Otter (the Dark Side) for fourteen years, serving as an assistant coach and Head Coach for ten additional years. Ryan held many Olney Mill records from 8 and under through the 13-14 age group, and held the MCSL Record in 8 and Under and 9-10 25 Breast for a short stint. Ryan swam for RMSC and Sherwood High School from 2001-2005, lettering all four years, and being named Captain for his Junior and Senior season.  Ryan was also a four year member of Sherwood lacrosse, and Rock'N'Roll Revival...once upon a time. Ryan briefly (very briefly) continued to swim at Virginia Tech after high school. Ryan double majored in History and Secondary Education graduating from Towson University. Ryan teaches at Sherwood High School. He coached Blake HS Swim and Dive for many seasons. Ryan is currently the Sherwood HS JV Lacrosee as well as the Swim and Dive coach.

Kylie Sheapp Co-Head Swim Coach

Kylie started swimming for the Olney Mill Swim Club at the age of 7 before joining the Tanterra Tarpons when she was 13.  She swam year-round for RMSC as one of their “mini’s” before joining the Flying Gull Aquatic Club at the age of 9.  After 9 years with FGAC, Kylie made a move to swim for Machine Aquatics. 

Kylie swam for Sherwood High School all 4 years and was nominated as Captain her senior year.   Kylie led the girl’s team to a second place finish at the Maryland State Championship her senior year. Kylie graduated from Towson University with a dual degree in Elementary and Special Education. After teaching first grade for 5 years, Kylie is continuing her teaching journey as a third-grade teacher at South Lake Elementary.

Kylie is looking forward to another great season with the Tarpons!

Amanda Wenhold Assistant Swim Coach

Amanda Wenhold started competitively swimming at the age of six. She joined the Maryland Suburban Swim Club and continued her swimming career there for the next twelve years.
Amanda started swimming for Tanterra swim team as an eleven year old. Over the next seven years she has set numerous team records and received MVP and top scorer honors on numerous occasions.
Locally, Amanda was the captain of the Sherwood Swim Team and was a metro and state champion. She is currently on a full athletic scholarship at Wingate University while persuing a degree in Exercise Science with a future of becoming a chiropractor. Amanda is excited to work with the team this summer.

Jaycie Boyle Assistant Swim Coach

Jaycie has enjoyed Tanterra as a fundamental part of her summer for most of her life. She began swimming for Tanterra Tarpons at age 4, on pre-team, before advancing to both the swim and dive teams. She began competitively swimming year-round when she joined RMSC seniors at age 12,  and moved up to advanced seniors at 16. She was a captain of the Sherwood swim & dive team her senior year and plans on joining club swim at the University of Vermont this fall.

Balancing academics, swimming, and multiple community events, Jaycie is committed to group engagement and striving for success--for herself, her peers, and the teams she is a part of. 

Jaycie has been the pre-team coach for the past two seasons and is thrilled to have the opportunity to lead the swim team alongside coach Kylie and coach Burnsky this summer! 

Ben Ostrinsky Head Dive Coach

Ben is very excited to return as Head Coach for this year. He has been a member of the Tanterra coaching staff since 2017 and is always excited to come back every summer. Ben started diving for Tanterra as an 8 & Under, diving as a Tarpon for 11 years until his senior season in 2021. In addition to diving for Tanterra, Ben dove at Magruder High School from 2017-2020 where he was a team captain for the 2019-2020 season, set a new 4-dive dual meet school record, and qualified for the Maryland State Championship the same year.

Ben is currently attending Indiana University where he is studying exercise science and working as a Data Analyst and coaching intern for the IU Dive Team. Working with the world class divers and coaches at IU has given Ben tons of diving knowledge that he can’t wait to bring to the Tarpons for another amazing season!

Lilly Calogero Assistant Dive Coach

Lilly is excited to return for her fourth summer on the coaching staff as the Assistant Dive Coach. She has been a dedicated member of the Tarpon dive team since she was 10 and has been competing in MCDL since the age of 6. Lilly began diving year-round in high school. She was a member of Stone Ridge School’s Varsity Swim and Dive team all four years of high school, where she competed in various championship meets. 

Lilly’s love for working with children remains a big part of her life in college. She attends the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where she is majoring in Elementary Education and minoring in Psychology. Lilly spends her free time volunteering at Brigade Boys and Girls Club and tutoring math. She hopes to use the skills she learned from these experiences when coaching. She is looking forward to having another great season this summer!


Maddie Simpkins Junior Assistant Dive Coach

Maddie is excited to return as a coach this year as the Junior Assistant Coach. She has been a diver since age 5, and has competed in dive and swim not just for Tanterra, but also for the Sherwood High School Varsity team. She looks forward to over a decade of diving and is equally thrilled to help all the younger and new member this year. Maddie currently attends Sherwood High School, and plans to continue swim and dive for as long as she can.
