*2021- The Mini-Gators Swim Team program is suspended for the season.
This program will be back in  2022*

The Mini Gators is a perfect way to introduce young swimmers (4-8) to competitive swimming.  The focus of this program is to improve technique and endurance and tons of FUN! Swimmers must have completed the Red Cross Swimming Lessons Level 3, or equavalient to participate in this program.   Mini Gators will have the opportunity to swim a 25 meter free-style race and possibly a relay race at our last home swim meet of the season.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Swimmers should be able to glide
  • Swim elementary Freestyle/Front Crawl Techniques with side breathing
  • Swim Freestyle 10 meters without stopping
  • Jump into deep water and tread water for 10 seconds or more
  • Familiar with diving from a kneeling or sitting position into the water

The coaches will focus on fine tuning the freestyle technique, work on endurance  to swim the full 25 meters without stopping, and work on diving off the blocks.   Depending on the swimmers ability, the coaches may also work on Backstroke techniques.

Practice for the Mini Gators will be on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 10:20 am to 11:00 am. The first 10 minutes will focus on announcements and stretching with the remaining 30 minutes for pool instruction.

This program cost is $100.00 .  Mini Gators receive the benefits of our team membership; this includes the team t-shirt, fun social events, team photo day, swim-a-thon, donut days, End of Season Banquet and more!

It is recommended that Mini Gators still participate in swim lessons, since practice focuses primarily on the freestyle stroke. There will be plenty of helpers in the water during practice!
