Welcome to the 2019 Lane Lines newsletter for Week 3!

Be sure to read through the whole newsletter. Lots of information on last week's results, this week's meet info, Fourth of July practice schedule, and All-City Meet Info.

Also, we'd love to feature your pictures of your kids swimming, diving, and hanging out on the front page of the website. If you've got any you'd like to share, send them to us and we'll add them to the rotation. Thanks!

Diving: Well Worthy
It was a frigid evening of diving, but the Magicians shined with two victories in the triple dual meet against Maple Bluff and Seminole. Thank you to all the wonderful parent volunteers helping with set up, scoring, awards, and tear down. Monona runs a very efficient meet because of all the wonderful volunteers!

We had several first time diving competitors at this first home meet of the season! Congratulations to Amelia Carless, Danielle Cherek, Hannah Cole, Calvin Kronenfeld, Clare Litwicki, Alex Wahe, and Max Wahe! Kuddos to Breleigh Ganshert and CiCi Howe on competing a reverse dive beautifully.

This week we face Hawks Landing on Friday evening away. Please plan to meet at Hawks Landing pool at 3:45pm as warm ups begin at 4pm. Plan for traffic as this club is on the far west side of Madison!! In the case of cooler weather, please bring layers of clothes for between dives and extra towels. If you own a parka, those are perfect for between dives. Also, healthy snacks are always a good idea. This week, we do not have a volunteer for providing fruit on Friday, so unless we have someone step up, there will be no treat Friday morning. Since Coach Wendy is out of town part of the week, please use the team website to declare for participation intention for Friday's meet. Have a great week!

Swim Notes
Congrats to all of our first-time swimmers! Lots of awesome swims. And special congrats to our Star Swimmers for their extra effort and positive attitude throughout the whole week.

When you sign up to participate in a meet, please add a note ONLY if you are NOT able to participate in the relays (free, medley, or both!) If you commit to the meet, we'll assume you're available for all the relays.

At the meet, make sure to check in with your coaches upon arrival and check out before leaving. This helps your coaches put together the relays, which are the first and last events of the day (except 8 & Unders). If you have signed up for the meet, please SHOW UP!!! If are legitimately ill or have a family emergency, please contact Kelly as soon as possible. We'd rather you tell us your status than have to fruitlessly search for you when you're not there.

Kelly can be reached at (309) 264-8378 or kchadesh@gmail.com

Thanks, have fun, and SWIM FAST!!

2019 All-City Meet Info

West Side Swim Club is hosting this year's All-City Swim Meet. Their website is now live and starting to populate with information. They also just published their first newsletter. Be sure to check out their website and get familiar with information as it gets published. Critical information includes supplying volunteers. We know how important it was to have other pools help us last year, so please return the favor to West Side. (Plus, you get free, reserved parking for the whole day you volunteer!) Thanks!

We'll post MO-specific information on our All-City info pages: Dive & Swim.

Ridgewood is hosting this year's All-City Dive Meet

Volunteering
The links are live for volunteering at the All-City swim meet. Each team in the league is responsible for providing both timers and clerk of course helpers.  Monona is responsible for providing 15 timers and 15 clerk volunteers. As of 6/25, We're about halfway full on timers, but need several folks to help in the Clerk of Course.  The shifts are distributed across all 3 days (Fri Aug 2 - Sun Aug 4), both morning and afternoon sessions. All volunteers will receive free, reserved parking that is valid for the entire day. Follow the links below to sign up. Monona must have all shifts filled by July 1.
