Deep Dive
Notes from Coach Z:

Hello Monona Dive Family,

While it’s not the outcome I suspect we’ll have at All-City, HP nudged us out of a W on Friday, July 9th. That does not go without saying many of our divers achieved personal bests and had a fantastic meet. HP has come a long way since we opened in ‘92, being the first guards at HP!

Outlook for the week ahead:

Tuesday, July 13th:
Tie dye party @ 5p
Bring a white shirt and meet behind the fence, adjacent to the boards.

Wednesday, July 14th:
Dive Meet @ Ridgewood (everyone will be entered to compete, as sign-up has lapsed).
Warmups @ 4p
Meet begins @ 5p

Friday, July 16th:
Dive Meet @ Monona vs. Seminole
Warmups @ 3p
Banner branding @ 4p
Meet begins @ 5p (please volunteer to help, it takes a village)

Special Thanks:
The families that generously plan to/have funded our donut Fridays:

Radermacher Family (Katherine)
Carmen Family (Isla & Kru)
Faust Family (Alexandra)
Glynn Family (Sydney & Kora)
Riemen Family (Talia)
Hopper/Fink Families (Emelia & Eamon)

These final two weeks are critical as we prepare for All-City.  We will take time to exact/solidify our dives and open the boards for added practice time starting @ 7am starting 7/13 until All-City.

Please ensure you have registered for for three (3) dual meets, if you plan to compete in All-City.

Thanks,
Coach Z

Swim Notes
Congratulations to all swimmers who participated at the swim meet at Middleton on Saturday!

Want to know our results? Check them out here:

If your swimmer earned a ribbon for an event, you'll find them in your family's folder/mailbox. Make sure to check your mailbox regularly!

Check out our Swim Stars for Week 5!

Notes from Coach Kelly:

The swimmers did a great job this past week despite the chilly water temps at Middleton.

We had to do a lot a rearranging of relays and I really appreciate everyone's flexibility!

We have a few meets left so now is the time to start finalizing our events for All City.  I am going to encourage all swimmers to have a conversation with their age group coach(s) this week to get discuss their best events.

If you haven't tried a meet yet, I would definitely try out our home meet before the end of the season!

And an important reminder:  We have  only two meets left and swimmers/divers are required to have participated in three dual meets if they want to compete in all-city. This is a league requirement and there is not flexibility.

And speaking of All City...no All City Meet is complete without our coaches in amazing costumes! We have 4 days of Costumes to complete this year and could use lots of help creating them. If you would like to be on the All City Costume Construction Committee, contact me directly at [email protected]

One last Apparel Note...The Poly Long Sleeve Shirts are in! They'll be available for pick up at Wednesday's practice. Thank you for your patience, and enjoy your shirts!

ANOTHER REMINDER TO SAVE THE DATE FOR THE END OF SEASON BANQUET: Exact time and location is TBA, but for now, make sure that you have Sunday, August 1 circled on your calendar for the MO End of Season Banquet. There will be food, awards, coach speeches, and one last time to officially hang out with your teammates and their families as the season ends. Don't miss it!

ALL CITY MEET INFORMATION

All City is fast approaching, and you can now sign your athletes up to compete. Please note the date, approximate time, and location of your swimmer or diver's age group session by checking out the All City League Championship Meet Page.

  • Sign up deadline is July 20th.

  • Please note Coach Kelly's recommendation for swimmers to chat with their age group coach about what events they'd recommend for All City.

  • Also note that events #111 and #112 are for our Unified Group only.

An Email was sent out earlier this week about Volunteering at All City...we'll need lots of you!

With multiple sites in rotation, we will need more Timer and Clerk of Course volunteers to cover all the locations...it's "All In for All City" this year, and we appreciate your help in making this incredible meet possible.

We'll send out more specific information about volunteering at All City later this week.

Home Meets mean we need lots of Volunteers!

Timers, Clerks of Course, Concessions, Awards, Scoring, Second Harvest...all need many hands on deck. Our entire organization is run on Volunteer Power, and we can't manage hosting meets without you! Unlike many teams, we do not have an official Volunteer Hour Requirement. We simply rely on...well...volunteers. You can read up on the task descriptions here, and sign up for your favorite using the button below. Thank you!

And, if you do volunteer, please note that your arrival time might be different than the meet start time! Clerk of Course, Timers, Concessions...just about every job needs their volunteers early to be prepared well in advance of the National Anthem. Please note your required arrival time when you sign up.

We are excited to announce that Concessions at our Final Two Home Meets will be expanded and relocated!

We'll be moving to back to our traditional location in front of the Pool Concession Stand, and will be adding Hot Dogs, Brats, and Burgers to our menu! A big hooray for the expanded options and a big thank you for your support!
