NORWOOD DUCKS
Norwood Swim Team is a 10-week competitive swim program for swimmers of all abilities. Paricipants must know how to swim and be able to swim each of the four basic strokes: freestyle, breast stroke, backstroke, and butterfly. Legal strokes are not required to join, and attending daily practices will help your swimmer develop their technique.
Norwood Swim Team is a member of the Midlakes Swim League and USA Swimming.
Swim Team workouts are offered Monday - Friday early May through mid July. Swim meets will be Tuesday and Thursday evenings, mid June - mid July, with one home meet and one away meet per week. The season closes with a Divisional Championship meet for all swimmers, Midlakes League Championship meet for qualified swimmers, and our Team Awards Social and Pool Party to celebrate the season.
Swim team, and swim meets in particular, take a lot of volunteers to run. For this reason we ask that each family commit to earning a minimum of 25 work share points. The work share commitment is a very easy threshold to meet, with most jobs earning 3 points each, and ample opportunities to help throughout the season. Swim meets are our biggest need, but there are also plenty of other events and tasks that happen off-meet hours for families that cannot volunteer during the meets.
