MICHAEL LIU | Head Coach

We are pleased to bring back Head Coach, Michael Liu for his third season at Norwood! 

Michael is a lifelong swimmer, who started swimming in Hong Kong before moving to Washington at age 10. He swam for King Aquatic Club, and was on the boy’s varsity swim team at O’Dea High School where he competed at the State Championships, and graduated with honors. He attended Green River College and the Beijing Language and Culture University before attending the University of Washington, where he made the Dean’s list twice, and earned his BA in Interdisciplinary Visual Arts with a minor in Art History.

In 2021, Michael led the Norwood Ducks to 1st place in the Midlakes Division IV Championship! He has a long coaching background with a mindful technical perspective of the little things one can do to improve their mechanics and become a better, faster swimmer. Currently, he is Head Coach for the Bellevue High School girls swim team, and Assistant Coach for the BHS boys swim team. He is also a swim instructor and lifeguard for the YMCA, where he has also coached masters swim.

Coach Michael has a real passion for sharing his love of swimming. Personally, his favorite swim events are the 100 Fly and 200 IM.

ERIN HARVEY | Head Coach

Hello everyone,

I am so excited to be back with Norwood for Summer 2023! I have been involved in swimming for most of my life, including competing for Bellevue Club Swim Team and Interlake High School. I also swam a bit in college, both for Oregon State and Washington State University. I love all the strokes, but my favorite probably has to be freestyle.

I am really looking forward to the season. Go Ducks!

PAIGE HEINEMANN | Assistant Coach

My name is Paige Heinemann, I’m 18 years old, and I will be graduating from Bellevue High School this spring.

I’ve been a part of Norwood since I was 8 years old, and I’ve always wanted to coach this team. I am on Bellevue High School’s Swim Team and their Water Polo Team, and I am a lifeguard here at Norwood. I’m excited to be an Assistant Coach this year!

JUDE VAN BREDA | Assistant Coach

Jude was determined to become a Norwood coach and lifeguard since he joined our team when he was 8 years old. He swam year-round with Olympic Cascade Aquatic where he competed in the 100M Fly, 200M Fly, and the 1500M Free at the 2019 PNS Long Course Championship. Jude is a 3rd year varsity swimmer for the BHS Boys Swim and Dive team, where he has qualified for King Co. and District Champs, and was included in the relay team that went to State in 2021 and 2023. 

Jude's favorite stroke is butterfly. This is Jude's third season coaching for Norwood.
