Sarah Paoli Head Coach

I am so excited to join the Riptide Family.   I have been in the aquatics field for 27 years, coaching for the past 20. I have coached with MSL teams, Marin Pirates and San Marin High School . I have been so fortunate to have the opportunity to coach all age groups.  I will also be coaching again with the Pirates in the fall and winter. I teach PE at Vallecito Elementary and have a daughter starting her senior year at TLHS.  I am looking forward to getting to know all of the Riptide Family!  See you pool side!

Mitch McSweeney Coach

Mitch came to us as a Riptide Swimmer all the way from Petaluma thanks to our former Coach, Coach Polly. Mitch and his sister's swam for Riptide over the years. When Mitch was done swimming and in College he naturally fell into the role of Coaching. Mitch is fabulous with the younger kids and he also expects a lot out of the experienced swimmers. Mitch is RIPTIDE and an asset to our team. We are so very thankful to have him back again in 2019!

Jean moved on to coaching where her experience includes; assistant coach with Novato Aquanauts, head coach for Novato and San Marin High School Swim Teams, Masters coach and Rohnert Park Swim Club Age group coach. Jean previously coached Riptide and returned to coach in 2001 as head coach. Jean is well known in the Marin County swimming community and she has enjoyed the many years with our team.

Elizabeth Oku Juniors Coach

Teaching swim lessons has been a lifelong passion of mine. At age 5 I joined a swim team and have been around pools ever since. I have been working in aquatics for over 23 years and have done all jobs around a pool from lifeguarding to training lifeguards, teaching swim lessons, coaching swim team to being an Aquatics Director overseeing the whole department. I’ve been an Aquatics Director for over 16 years and choose to leave my full time job after my second daughter was born. I now teach part time so I can enjoy mothering my three wonderful daughters and still do what I love- teach swimming. I love helping each swimmer reach the next level in their skills- weather that is leaning to go underwater, or mastering the butterfly. I inspire young swimmers to explore the water while having fun and practicing drills. I am thrilled to be coaching again and look forward to helping the junior swimmers reach their personal goals. Go Riptide!
