April 6, 2020

As you are all aware the current pandemic has affected all aspects of all of our lives, and while we all look forward to returning to a level of normalcy, we will not be able to return to normalcy in time to have our traditional swim season this year.  The Board of Directors continue to diligently work to prepare contingencies as it is our goal at some point this Summer, to have some type of season, We did feel it was necessary to communicate with our members today as Mid Valley Swim League (League) Officials did unilaterally post on social media a League notice earlier today which we feel requires clarification.

The notice is consistent with the direction in which the Tracy Tritons recommended the League move, that direction being, all League meets be cancelled for the 2020 swim season.  While this decision was made in the best interest for the health and safety of all our members and their families, this does not mean we will not have any swimming this Summer.  As noted previously, it is our goal to have a modified swim season this year, however details of the season cannot be provided at this juncture.  Once details related to the pandemic and required actions by the State, County and Local Officials becomes more concrete, we as an organization will then have the opportunity to finalize our plans which will then be shared with each family.

For those families that had registered for the season prior to the escalation of the pandemic, you will receive full refunds.  The process to refund those families which had previously provided payment was initiated earlier this week and those families should receive direct refunds in the coming days.

Swimming is a large part of all of our lives as the commitment our members make year after year dominate our Spring and Summer. From daily practices, to waking up at 5:00 A.M. on a Saturday, to all day sitting in the sun to watch our swimmers race across the pool for 30 seconds, watching our swimmers beat their times, showing hard work does pay off and most importantly starting off each season as friendly strangers, but ending as a swim family.  These things we would jokingly complain and gripe about in the moment will be missed, probably more than we will know at this point, but the Tracy Tritons Swim Team family has survived since 1965 because we as a family understand the importance of this sport in each of our swimmers lives and we strongly believe our swim family will emerge from this difficult situation stronger, more connected and ready to provide a positive environment for all of our swimmers as has been done for decades prior.

We hope each of you remain healthy, safe and in good spirits as we all navigate through this unnerving global emergency.  Rest assured, once it is permitted, the Tracy Tritons Swim Team will be ready, willing and able to provide our swim families and our swimmers a bridge to normalcy.

Thank you,

The Tracy Triton Board of Directors

Due to the standing orders issued by Local and State officials and our efforts as an organization to ensure the health and safety of all our members and families, we are forced to delay the start of the 2020 season further.  We continue as an organization to communicate closely with local officials to ensure our planning mirrors the recommendations issues by State, County and Local offices.

Since 1965 the Tracy Triton goal has never waivered in providing recreational swimming opportunities for all levels of swimmers in our community, and once the existing orders are lifted we will determine how best to provide swimming to our community as we as an organization have done each Summer for 55 years.

We appreciate your continued support and look forward to having the opportunity to provide concrete details to our members as soon as possible.
