Coach’s Message

This week is sure to be a fun one! We are going to start off the 4th of July weekend with an Arden Park Dolphins SPIRIT week. There will be some new things happening this week at morning and afternoon practices!

Monday- Open water swimming: there will be no lane lines in the pool! The fastest way across the pool is in a straight line. Let’s see how straight we swim when we don’t have lane lines to guide us.

Tuesday- Crazy hair day! No swim caps needed today! Let’s see who has the craziest hair!

Wednesday- Wear your wardrobe Wednesday: Swimming in your clothes is always fun… swimming laps in your clothes is hard! Grab an oversized T-shirt and/or some shorts/pants/pajamas and let’s give it a try. The more clothes the harder! How many layers can you wear?

Thursday- Stay-A-float Thursday: Grab a pair of arm floaties and let’s swim some laps (I have some arm floaties to share, but feel free to bring your own). This should be a fun one!

Friday- Fun Friday: With no meet this weekend now is the time to have some fun in the pool.

**There will be no morning or afternoon practice on Monday July 5th! Enjoy your three day weekend!

Have a great week! See you at the pool!

AP Youth Triathlon UPDATE! Registration Closes This Week!

Time is running out!! Register today for the 2021 Splash and Dash edition of the Arden Park Youth Triathlon. Registration closes at midnight on Wednesday, June 30th!

Go to this link and choose the “youth sports/fitness” option (https://aprpd.activityreg.com/selectactivity_t2.wcs)

The goal of our event this year is to bring everyone out and regain that sense of community we’ve been missing over the last year and a half. But, if your athlete is feeling a little more competitive with this easier version of the triathlon, maybe they would enjoy signing up for the open division we’ve created this year. In the open division the age range is widened and boys and girls will compete against each other. Reach out if you have any additional questions.  ([email protected])

Swim-a-POOL-ooza Prizes Are In!

Exciting news! All of the prizes from Swim-a-POOL-ooza have arrived! If your swimmer raised $60/$100/$200, then keep an eye out at afternoon practices this week for a bag with your swimmer’s name on it.

Save The Date! Rio Del Oro Championship Invitational!

Mark your calendars!  Saturday, June 24th Rio Del Oro will host an Invitational swim meet!

During a “normal” year, the competitive swim season is capped off with a Championship Meet where teams across the NCSL conferences swim against one another.  This year, our “Champs” weekend would have been on July 24th and 25th.  In lieu of a typical “Champs” meet, Rio will be hosting a Championship Invitational!  Please be on the lookout for more details available soon!
