COVID Precautions & FAQs

We are following the youth sport guidelines provided by the California Department of Public Health, updated 2/19/21. That guidance can be read here.

What COVID-19 precautions are you taking?

  1. Smaller practice groups: We are capping the pups/porpoise practice group at 25 swimmers, and all other practice groups at 30. This allows us to place 6 swimmers in a lane with dual start sides.
  2. Face coverings: All swimmers are required to wear a face covering upon entering and exiting the club.
  3. Entry / exit procedures: All swimmers enter and exit the club in a pattern that limits congestion and keeps practice groups from mixing.
  4. Equipment: Swimmers are required to bring their own practice equipment (fins, kick boards) and not share with others. Any team equipment used will be disenfected between practice groups. No sharing of water bottles is allowed. Swimmers must ensure any personal items placed poolside are safely distanced from others.
  5. Limited parent observers: We ask that only parents of our 6&under swimmers stay to observe practice, in order to assist their swimmer if necessary. Parents must wear face coverings and maintain social distancing at all times when in the club. Parents of older children may remain on the campus by making a reservation to use the facility.

Will we have swim meets?
Short answer: yes, we will have dual meets. We are still working with other teams in the the Nor Cal Swim League to develop a plan to excute these meets within the recommendations from the state and County of Sacramento. More information will be shared as this plan is developed.

What about the parent commitment?
Even though we don't know the exact details of what our meets will look like, we know we will have them. Some volunteer jobs we usually fill might not be available. We may have other new jobs come up. Either way, swim team is run solely by parent volunteers. Each family is required to fulfill service credits each season. Information about fulfilling this commitment and more about these policies can be found here
