Stan Jacobs Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship has been established to honor the life of Stan Jacobs and his contributions to the Elk Grove Piranhas. Stan loved being part of the Piranhas, but more than anything he loved what being part of the swim team provided, time with his family. He recognized that very few sports allowed for all four of his children, Austin, Logan, Sicily and Sophie and his wife, Alicia to be at the same place at the same time. Stan, Alicia and their children practically lived on the pool deck for over a decade, as Stan served on the board of the Piranhas, while Alicia took pride in being a team Mom. Often known as the parents with “crazy Piranha hats”, Stan and Alicia could not have been bigger advocates of the Piranhas and the opportunities it provided them and their children.

This scholarship is intended to:

• -  Support committed Piranha families who have fallen on tough financial times, but can’t imagine a summer not spent on the pool deck.

• -  Welcome new families to join the Piranhas, who previously did not have the financial means.

  This scholarship will be awarded to four children.

  Please submit an email to [email protected] explaining your financial hardship, and why joining the Piranhas, or continuing to swim with the Piranhas is so important to your family. Deadline to apply is March 5th, 2023.
