2023 ELK GROVE PIRANHAS SWIM TEAM REGISTRATION

(Please read ALL info thoroughly BEFORE registering)

It is time to get ready for the 2023 Elk Grove Piranhas Swim Season!

 

We will officially open registration for returning members on February 5, 2023! Registration for new families will open February 15, 2023.

Registration - ONLINE 

Like last year, registration will be ONLINE! If you are a returning family and are adding a new sibling, you can add the sibling when you register existing swimmers. 

Credit card payments will be the ONLY form of payment accepted. No service charges will be applied 

• Volunteer Declaration: As in past years, we ask each family to declare areas they are willing to volunteer.  We are asking parents to submit their selections for where they would like to volunteer (e.g., Team parents, hospitality, etc.) by completing the survey. Your swimmer's registration WILL NOT be activated until a response has been received via this link. The survey can be completed any time or within 2 days of completing the registration process.

2023 registration fees will include the following: 

• One to two practices per day depending on age group. Practice Schedules will be released mid-March. All practices are held at Elk Grove Aquatic Center after 4 pm. Practices are 30-75 minutes depending on the age/ability of swimmer(s).
• Each family will be required to volunteer 20 hours at our meets and events. 
• Volunteer Requirements: Similar to past years, families will have a mandatory volunteer requirement that can be achieved in a variety of ways. Please remember the requirement of our Parent Volunteer Policy which states: 
  • "Each family is required to volunteer for twenty (20) hours during the regular swim season and for two (2) shifts at Championships (provided the family attends).” 
  • 2023 Volunteer Participation
• The penalty for not completing the required hours will be $30.00 per missing hour and $50 per shift for Championships. 

 

FEES 

Each Swimmer                         $540 for the season (works out to be $135/month)

High School Swimmer             $410 (starts practicing after high school team season ends. If athlete will be attending Piranhas practices in lieu of attending their High School Team practice, athlete MUST register for the full season.)

Payment options are available. To use the payment option, you must choose "payment plan" at checkout. 

The 2023 payment plan is as follows(READ CAREFULLY): Charges will be split into payments/swimmer @ $135/payment ($102.50 for HS Swimmer). The first payment will be will be processed at the time of registration, with the remaining payments processed on 3/15, 4/15, and 5/15/23. (If you register later than any of these dates, you will have to pay in less increments. We cannot extend the payment plan past the scheduled dates. For example, if you register April 1st, you would need to make the initial payment and the March payment at the time of registration. The final 2 installments would be charged on 4/15 and 5/15)  If at anytime we are unable to process the card on file, your swimmer(s) will be unable to attend practices and meets until payment has been recieved. If your card is declined more than once, payment-in-full will be required for your swimmer to continue with the team. PLEASE READ PAYMENT PLAN DETAILS CAREFULLY.  SINCE WE ARE SO LATE INTO THE REGISTRATION PERIOD, PAYMENTS HAVE BEEN SPLIT TO MAKE SURE ALL ACCOUNTS ARE PAID IN FULL BEFORE THE FIRST MEET:

The first monthly installment of $270/swimmer (or $205.00 for HS Swimmers) will be charged at the time of registration. Additional charges in the amount of $270 /swimmer ($205.00 for HS swimmers) will be charged to this card on 5/15/2023. If at any time we are unable to process your card, your swimmer will be unable to attend practice until your balance due is paid. If your card is declined twice, your account will need to be paid in full for the season immediately. Once you have completed registration, an email will be sent to you within 24 hours. Please follow the instructions sent to you. Failure to confirm your payment plan details and add a card to your file within 48 hours will result in your swimmer(s) spot being given to the next registrant on the waiting list. 

 

**Registration Fees do not include Northern California Swim League fees of $15. Swimmers must register with Northern California Swim League at www.norcalswimleague.com. DO NOT WAIT TO COMPLETE THIS REGISTRATION. Click on the link and choose the registration option. Existing swimmers, DO NOT log in until it asks you to do so in the registration steps. New swimmers, set up your account when asked to do so in the registration process. Do not start by logging in or setting up a new account.

REFUND POLICY

A full refund for all monies paid will be issued if a written request is received by a Board Member prior to April 19, 2023.  A partial refund (50% of monies paid) will be made if such request is received by a Board Member in writing between April 16^th and April 30^th, 2023.  The only refunds issued after that time will be due to a medical condition (with a doctor’s note) preventing the swimmer from completing the season. Medical refunds will be prorated. Refunds for COVID-related illnesses will not be issued. 

SWIMMING REQUIREMENTS

All swimmers must be able to complete a full lap of freestyle or backstroke independently without touching lane ropes, the bottom of the pool, or the walls by April 14, 2023 to participate in the 2023 season.

 

WAIT LIST POLICY

If the group you wish to register your child for is full, please register them to the corresponding age group wait list. There will be a NON-REFUNDABLE $1.00 fee to add to the wait list. When your child is moved from the wait list to the team, you will receive confirmation and your credit card will be charged the remaining fees for registration

STAN JACOBS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP— To apply, please follow the scholarship requirements on the flyer.  Please register your swimmer(s) under the payment plan.  You will be charged for the first payment when registering.  If your swimmer(s) are awarded the scholarship, all monies paid would be refunded.  If not awarded and unable to fulfill the registration requirements, please follow our refund policy in place (see above).

 

Again, the team strives to manage its resources in the most economical and efficient manner it can and tries to distribute costs to all families as equitably as possible. SEASON KICK-OFF MEETING  

We will schedule a Season Kick-Off meeting during the month of April, exact date is still pending.   

Please attend this very important Kick-Off Meeting.  We will introduce important details about our practice and meet facilities, introduce our coaching staff, and 2023 Board of Directors.  We will also communicate information received from our Northern California Swim League about swim meets and other competition.

TEAM SUITS & CAPS

Our official Team Suits information will be available soon. Team caps are encouraged to be worn at practice and meets and can be purchased on deck.

We are now open to receiving 2023 sponsors.  Besides being a key fundraising source for the team, sponsors receive a variety of benefits depending on sponsorship level including meet signage, ability to promote your business at our home meets, and advertisement on our team website and social media pages.
