Hello Wave Families,

January 27th we will hold our time trial meet. At the meet we will be going over how a normal meet is run during the summer. Below are the events that each age group will be swimming. I do plan on having them swim all their respected events and receiving a time for each. I would like all of you to let me know if you will be able to attend. If you go on to our homepage on our team website, under upcoming events you will see “Wave Time Trial Meet”. Go ahead and click “Attend/Decline” to let us know if you are going to participate in the meet. Please do this as soon as possible!
We are going to need parent volunteers! There are several jobs that we ask the parents to help us out with, without these jobs filled swim meets will not be able to function. At this meet coming up we are only asking for a few of these positions to be filled. Timers: In control of stop watches/buttons for collecting the swimmers time for their respected lane. Bench Runners: Making sure all the 8 & Unders are lined up in their respective heat and lane order. Then walking them up to the block 3 heats before theirs. Starter: In control of announcing the event and heat number, then starting the athletes in this fashion: 3 short whistles, 1 long whistle, “Take your mark”, BUZZER. Stroke/Turn Refs: In charge of disqualifying swimmers during races and letting the head official know. I will go into more detail throughout the next couple weeks.
