David Hill
Head Coach

Coach David has coached for 7 years, is in his 5th year as a USA Swim Coach, and is currently a club coach for the Blue Wave Swim Team. He brings a lot of experience and passion to the team!  His favorite aspects of coaching are seeing a swimmer progress, achieve personal/team success, and develop a passion for the sport of swimming.  As the new swim season begins, he has set goals for the Riptides.  His ultimate goal is overall team success and for the Riptides to win Northland Conference!  He will work on developing and mastering stroke fundamentals with our younger swimmers and team leadership skills with our older swimmers. Most importantly, he wants to help our team bond as a whole, ensuring that each swimmer, family member, board member, coach, and volunteer plays an essential role on our team. He wants each swimmer to have fun and tell mom and dad after practice, "I love swimming at Riss Lake, I learned something that helped me today, and I enjoyed time with my friends!"

Fun Facts about Coach David:
His favorite color is blue! He likes that he sees this color every time he coaches or sees water.
His favorite fast food is Jimmy Johns Gargantuan, "Americas' Largest and Fastest Made Gourmet Sandwich" especially because it meets half of his daily caloric intake!

Paige Riekhof
Head Assistant Coach

Coach Paige started her swimming career as a Little Ripple on the Riptides.  From the age of five, she spent every summer as a Riptide swimmer, and holds many records on the team. She was also part of the team when they took the title five years in a row of Northland Conference Champions (2008-2012).  On top of swimming with the Riptides, Paige has been swimming year-round competitively all her life, and is currently swimming for the University of Kansas on a swimming scholarship, logging 25 hours a week in the pool.  She is a graduate of Park Hill South High School, where she ended her High School swimming career holding the maximum of 16 All-State metals, and being selected as the Kansas City Star Swimmer of the Year in 2018. After spending a season as Assistant Coach for the Riptides, she is excited to take her knowledge of the sport to the next level as Assistant Head Coach.  Her goal for the team is to get each swimmer more comfortable in the water, to overall improve each swimmer as a whole, and create a fun team dynamic where every swimmer is excited to come to practice.  By the end of the season, she hopes to have a bond with each swimmer and the ultimate goal is to hold a team conference title.
