Open for New Members

124 Members

Welcome to the Stillwater Starz 2021 season! We are pleased to offer electronic registration and payment processing, a process that's simple for both new and returning members. Once registered online, you'll gain access to an online account through which you can easily declare for swim meets, sign-up for jobs, see your children's swim times histories, maintain your own contact information, and more.

Swim team is open to ALL swimmers, ages 5-18, who are able to cross the pool safely (any stroke).  Non-Stillwater residents are welcome!

Please Note

The "Referred By" line on the account page must be filled in to proceed with the registration. If you are a returning member, please enter "SELF."  Did you know that you can earn $10 concessions cash for each new family that registers based on your referral?  New families should enter the last name of the family that has referred them to the team.

The Season

The team participates in eight dual meets (Tuesday or Thursday evenings or Saturday mornings), one invitational meet, and two exciting championship meets (swimmers enter one of the two) at the conclusion of the season. Before dual meets begin, we offer an intrasquad Time Trial at our own pool; it’s a great chance for all swimmers to warm up for the season—and for new swimmers and families to learn how a swim meet is run. We’d love for your family to join the fun!

This summer’s meets, as always, are optional for all swimmers. They may run normally, or they may be run in split sessions or as dual-site time trials in order to adhere to current CDC and Will Co. Health Dept. guidance. Options for spectating and concessions may look different than in the past, but we’ll do our best to ensure that Starz meets continue to be a fun family activity!

Preseason evening practices for all swimmers begin Tuesday, June 1, and continue daily through D204’s last day of school, Friday, June 4. Preseason practices will follow the "Evening Practice Hours" schedule below for all swimmers. If adjustments need to be made to facilitate distancing, families will be notified in advance.

Regular season practices begin on the first weekday after school ends, June 7, and continue Monday-Friday (mornings) or Monday and Wednesday (evenings) until the Classic Championship Meet (or City Championship Meet, for qualified swimmers).

**Note: Our ability to offer evening practices this season is dependent on enrollment. Because we anticipate both reduced enrollment and reduced fees, the availability of our evening practice option is tentative at this time. We will advise families of the status of evening practices once our enrollment numbers are more clear. Keep in mind that order to ensure appropriate supervision and attention for all, swimmers selecting the evening practice option (if available) must be able to swim one length of the pool unassisted (any stroke).

Not a Stillwater resident? No problem! The Starz is a welcoming team, and we're happy to have neighbors from other communities join us! Non-residents are assessed a nominal $25 per family (not per child) fee at the time of payment. This fee provides non-resident swim team members access to the Stillwater pool for all team practices, meets, and social events. Non-resident families who wish to visit the pool at times other than these may do so as the accompanied guest of resident members. Residents may purchase guest passes at the pool office for a small fee.

Late Registration

On-line registration will be available until the first day of practice (TBD). Contact us for late registration information.

Parent Worker Obligation

The Stillwater Starz is an entirely volunteer-run organization; there are no paid timers, officials, or other staff. Without the hard work and dedication of our parents, our swim meets could not take place. Meet participation is optional, and the manner in which each meet is conducted (and associated parent work obligations) will be dictated by transmission levels and related guidance/restrictions. While these specific will only be made clear much closer to the season, Starz parents should expect to work at at all home meets (one parent worker/proxy per registered family, per meet) regardless of their child's competition status. If your child swims at time trials, a championship meet, or an invite, you will need to work these meets as well. It is only through the hard work of our team parents that we are able to offer competitive opporutnities for the kids in our community at such an affordable rate; thatnks for your part in making that happen!

Parent Worker Bond

Upon your registration today, you'll be asked to mail in a $100 bond. In the event that you miss a parent worker assignment, this initial bond check will be cashed, and a second check for $100 must be presented prior to your swimmer(s)' entry in any further meets.  If a second job assignment is missed, the second $100 check is cashed, and a third check of $150 must be presented prior to your swimmer(s)' entry in any further meets. This process will continue until the end of the season. Initial bond checks can be made payable to Stillwater Swim Team and mailed to: Stillwater Starz, c/o Treasurer Rob Pittroff, 2219 Stowe Circle, Naperville, IL 60564. NOTE: Should the season be cancelled due to ongoing concerns surrounding public health, your bond check will be destroyed.

Online Parent Worker Sign-Up

Online job sign-up will take place via in late May or early June (you will be notified via email before it opens). If you fail to sign up for a job the required number of meets during the week-long sign-up period, your worker assignments will be selected from those that remain by the Job Coordinator. YOU MUST BE REGISTERED, WITH BOND CHECK SUBMITTED, IN ORDER TO SELECT PARENT WORKER ASSIGNMENTS.

Thanks for making the Stillwater Starz a part of your summer. We can't wait to see you and your family at the pool, and we're excited for another great season!
