Welcome to the Electronic Registration platform for The Stillwater Starz Stroke Clinic!! We are pleased to offer simple electronic payment processing and registration for both new and returning Starz families. If you're new to the Starz and learned of our stroke clinic through a current Starz family, please enter their name in the "REFERRED BY" field. We'd like to thank them for spreading the word!

The Stillwater Starz Stroke Clinic is open to all swimmers ages 5-18 who are able to safely swim across the pool (any stroke) without assistance. Unfortunately, due to concerns regarding the possible transmission of COVID-19 and our need to maintain social distancing, we aren't able to accommodate swimmers who require in-water assistance at this summer's clinic. We're sorry!

Both swimmers who live in Naperville's Stillwater subdivision AND those who reside outside Stillwater are welcome and encouraged to attend. There is no additional non-resident fee for this summer's clinic!

For this summer's clinic, swimmers will be grouped primarily by ability. This will help facilitate social distancing during practices and will allow swimmers to grow their skills with peers at approximately the same level. Workouts will be carefully tailored to each group's ability in order to maximize growth and refinement of skills.  As is typical, the length and time of practice changes based upon the collective experience and swim fitness of each group. All swimmers, new and returning, must attend an evaluation on either Thursday morning, July 9, or Friday morning, July 10. This evaluation, which will last between 5-10 minutes, will allow our coaches to assess your swimmer's current ability. You will be informed of your swimmer's practice time and group placement on Saturday, July 11. If there is a particular practice time that you know won't work for your swimmer (schedule conflict) please inform the coach AT THE EVALUATION. Unfortunately, because balancing group numbers is key to maintaining social distancing, we may be unable to honor requests for practice group changes once the cinic has begun.

You will receive an invitation to sign up for your swimmer's evaluation via Google doc following registration. Early regsitration will allow for the greatest number of evaluation time options.

The Stillwater Starz Stroke Clinic is a three-week, daily developmental swimming program geared toward young athletes with an interest in competitive swimming. Past competitive swim experience is welcome, but absolutely NOT required! Swimmers will be grouped with others of like ability and encouraged to grow their skills through carefully planned workouts and drillls. Registration incudes fifteen sessions over the course of three weeks. Summer is a busy time; we understand that some families may have other obligations that conflict with one or more days of the clinic. Please don't let this keep you from registering! While we hate to have any of our swimmers miss out on even ONE day of fun, we know that things do come up. Unfortunately, while we are more than happy to accommodate swimmer absences, we are unable to prorate or discount our registration fees.

All swimmers will need a properly fitting one-piece swimsuit, goggles, a towel, and a full water bottle at each practice. Girls will also need a latex or silicone swim cap (optional for boys). No particular brands or styles are required, and we encourage participants to use what they have. We also encourage boys to consider a jammer-style swimsuit as an alternative to beach-style trunks. They're easier to move in, more comfortable, and create less drag during workouts.  Please note that in the interest of participant health and and safety, equipment cannot be shared. For those who need equipment, most of what you need can likely be found at Dick's Sporting Goods. Local swim specialty stores include Swimmer's Edge (Woodridge) and Urban Tri-Gear (Westmont). You may also order online from Swim Outlet, Kiefer, or other e-retailers.

We encourage participants to apply sunscreen at home before each day's session.

A we enter Phase 4 of Illinois' reopening, the Stillwater Starz Parent Board and the Stillwater HOA are carefully monitoring evolving IDPH and CDC guidelines designed to prevent virus transmission. Specific drop-off, check-in, and in-practice procedures designed with coach and participant safety in mind will be communicated to participants one week prior to the clinic. Our coaching staff will work diligently to maintain a safe, healthy, and fun environment for your young swimmers. We ask for your assistance in this; if you, your swimmer, or ANYONE in your household is feeling unwell or showing symptoms consistent with COVID-19 infection, we respectfully request that you keep your swimmer at home.
