Dunn Loring Swim and Dive Team

Help Us Make This Season A Success!

We’re excited your family has joined the Dolphin Swim Team. Parents are vital members of the team and we need everyone’s help to be able to successfully execute our swim meets throughout the season. If your child is swimming in a meet, consider how you can help.

As a reminder, every family is required to volunteer at least 5 "points" for the team this summer. (point values are listed in the job signup)

Here’s how you can help:

Become a certified Official. Every team needs certified Referees, Starters, and Stroke & Turn officials. This is a great way to learn the sport and help your swimmer understand stroke technique. See Calendar for NVSL training schedule to become certified. (Training dates start May 30th)

Work at the Scoring/Ribbons Table. Verify and record official times and prepare award ribbons.

Work at Clerk of Course Tent. These positions are crucial to ensuring the meet runs smoothly, making sure correct swimmers are in the correct heats and lanes.

Serve as a Timer. Timers are at the core of the action. Watch your swimmer touch the wall up close.

Serve as a Marshall (aka Swim meet Bouncer!). Make sure only appropriate people are in designated areas. Control crowd and noise levels.

Be the Voice of the Dolphins at Home Meets! The Announcer keeps the meets moving along by announcing swimmers and winners during the meet.

Help with Set up, Concessions, and Clean up at Home Meets. Set up, take down, grilling and selling concessions at Home meets. At Concessions, you can take breaks and watch the swimming.
