Kat Owczarski Co-Head Coach

I have been a member of the Langley Wildthings since the age of 8, and have been coaching for Langley since the age of 16. I am very excited to return to the club as a coach again this summer!

I attended the University of Virginia where I studied History and Government-- with a concentration in American Catholic History during the 19th Century.  I graduated from UVA's Curry School of Education with a Masters in Teaching with an endorsement in High School History. While in Charlottesville, I coached two different swim teams: The Albemarle High School Swim Team and the Virginia Gators of Charlottesville. Currently, I coach for the Fairfax Foxes and the West Springfield High School Swim and Dive Team, where I also teach History.

If you have any questions for me, or would like to sign up for private lessons this summer, please do not hesitate to reach out by email. Go Wildthings!

I began swimming my freshman year of high school in Virginia Beach in 2004.  That summer I joined the Pembroke Meadows Marlins of the VBSL.   I swam until graduating in 2007 and continued coaching the Marlins through this past summer.  During college, I was president of the George Mason Swim Club and since graduation have been an age group/senior level coach at Tri-City Aquatics Club and currently with Machine Aquatics.  If you have any questions about Langley, Machine Aquatics or private swim lessons please don't hesitate to contact through cell, text or email.

Izzy Schone Assistant Head Coach

I have been a part of the Wildthing family for the past fifteen years, starting in Mini Wildthings when I was six years old. I love swimming and I can’t wait to be able to coach at the LC this summer! The Wildthings have been so supportive over the years, and there is nothing more fun than summer swim team. Whether it be learn to swim as a child or an adult, I would love to swim with you!

I am currently a rising Senior at Boston College enrolled in the nursing school and I swim on the Varsity Swim Team. I formerly swam on the National Team for Machine Aquatics. I began swimming competitively for Machine at age eight. Throughout high school I qualified for States, was a Langley HS swim team captain, and was a two event qualifier for NCSA’s. I have been a coach for the Winter Wildthings program, as well as an assistant coach for the Wildthings the past three summers! I am looking forward to coaching again this summer and cannot wait to see you all at the pool whether it be for practice, meets, or lessons!!

I have been a part of the Wildthings family for as long as I can remember, starting 14 years ago on Mini Wildthings when I was 5. Being on the swim team and now coaching has always been such a highlight for me and I cannot imagine spending my summers any other way!

I am currently a rising Sophomore political science major at Davidson College on the pre-law track, and I swim on the Varsity Swim Team. I formerly swam on the National Team for Machine Aquatics. Throughout my career, I have been on the PVS Zone Team, qualified for Sectionals, NCSAs, Futures, and was a Langley High School swim team captain. I started coaching and giving lessons five years ago and have also coached the Winter Wildthings program for three years. I have experience coaching kids from ages 2-18. I have my American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification and am also CPR/AED certified. I am so excited to coach again this summer and cannot wait to see the Wildthings back in action!
