A MEET INFO
- Dual meet between Marlins and other teams within our division.
- Held 5 consecutive Saturday mornings beginning June 18th.
- Meets begin promptly at 9:00 AM and usually conclude by 11:30 AM.
- Warm-ups begin at 8:00 AM or 8:30 AM - see meet information for more details.
- Top 3 swimmers in each event in each age group are selected to swim in the A Meet. Selection is based on swimmers' times obtained in Time Trials or B Meets, whichever is faster.
- Swimmers may swim up - in the age group above - if needed to fill the 3 spots available.
- Swimmers can only swim 2 individual events.
- Relays are swum at the end of the meet.
- Meets are scored.
A MEET PROCEDURES
- Under each meet please indicate whether your swimmer is available to swim in the A Meets by selecting the Attend/Decline button & making the correct declaration. This does NOT guarantee your swimmer will swim, it just lets the coaches know your swimmer is available.
- Swimmers will be notified as to whether they are swimming by the end of practice on the Wednesday prior to the meet. The A Meet Selection Sheet will be posted on the Marlins board located by the guard office.
- Swimmers must check off their name under each event they are swimming to indicate they will swim in the A Meet. DEADLINE is Wednesday evening at 9:00 PM.
- If the swimmer becomes ill or is not able to swim for any other reason & they have already confirmed their name/event please contact the coaches or team rep immediately to let them know your swimmer is no longer available.
MISCELLANEOUS
- Team lunch will follow each A Meet. For HOME meets, lunch is catered & served in the snack bar. For AWAY meets, the location will be announced at the swim meet - varies week-to-week. These are not required, but lots of fun for the swimmers & families.
- Meet Sheets - will be emailed prior to the start of the meet.
SCORING
- Individual events - 1st place is 5 pts.; 2nd place is 3 points; 3rd place is 1 point.
- Relays - 1st place is 5 pts.
