Neal McElhattan Head Coach

Neal grew up in Vienna, VA where he swam in the winter for York Swim Club on the National team and spent his summers swimming in the NVSL for the Dunn Loring Dolphins. He attended George C. Marshall High School, where he was a 3x VHSL State Finalist in the 100 Butterfly and 100 Backstroke, received the Most Outstanding Player award for Men's Swimming his senior year, and still holds the school record in the 100 Fly. After high school, he attended Old Dominion University where he continued to swim as a NCAA Division I athlete, earning his spot on the 400 medley and 200 medley relays which came in 3rd and 2nd at the CCSA Championships, and being voted team captain his junior and senior years. He graduated from ODU with a B.S. in Finance in 2022.

Neal began coaching with his summer league team, first as a mini's coach and then as an assistant coach. He is a USA Swimming Coach for Machine Aquatics and has been a NVSL Head Coach for the past two summers. He is ecstatic about being the new Head Coach for the Marlins and absolutely cannot wait to meet all of you! GO MARLINS!

Olivia Gore Senior Assistant Coach

I'm so excited to be Head Coach of Furtures and Groups this summer.  I have been an Assistant Coach for 4 summers and look forward to leading these groups.  I have been a part of the Marlins Swim Team since I was seven years old. I graduated from McLean High School in 2019, where I was a member of the Swim and Dive Team.  I also swam for York Swim Club for many winters starting in elementary school.  Currently, I am a junior studying Elementary Education at James Madison University where I also play club water polo.  Marlins is a huge part of my summer and I have so many fond memories, and I hope to make some new ones!  I am looking forward to a great season with your children this summer!

Ryan Campbell Assistant Coach

Ryan has been a Marlin since he was 6 years old.  He knows anything there is to know about being a Marlin and F-E-A-S-T exhibited by earning Most Spirited, Most Dedicated, and the Coaches Choice Award.  He is also a 5 time NVSL All-Star competitor.  In addition to swimming for the Marlins, during the winter he swims with York Swim Club and McLean High School's varsity swim team.  Clearly this guy prefers water over land!  He has been coaching Future Marlins and Group Lessons since he was 13 years old.  He also coached at Norman Swimming for the past three years.  We are excited that Ryan is joining the Marlins for his inaugural year as an Assistant Coach.

Michael Luebke Assistant Coach

Michael has been a Marlin since he was 10 years old.  He loves the sense of spirit, pride and family that comes with being a Marlin, and is excited to impart these important traits to the younger swimmers and new members of the team.  He was a Future Marlins Coach for 4 years, and a Lane Leader for 2 of those years.  When Michael isn't coaching or swimming for the Marlins he is playing varsity lacrosse at Langley High School where he is involved in the mentor/mentee program.  He is also currently in the Leadership class at Langley High School.  Let's give it up for Michael and welcome him to the Marlins as a new Assistant Coach!

Ellison Soobert Assistant Coach

Ellison is coming up on his 14th season with the McLean Marlins.  Since he was a wee lad, his summers have entirely been focused on the team and NVSL.  He was a lane leader two of the three years that he coached the Furure Marlins, and he also was selected to provide semi-private lessons.  When Ellison is not bringing energy and hype to the Marlins, he is busy leading Langley Swim & Dive as a Team Captain.  Langley went undefeated to win Districts and Regionals in the 2020-2021 school year.  Ellison also played an integral role in managing the Marlins social media outlets and website and creating each end of season slideshow.  Please welcome Ellison as an Assistant Coach.  We are truly lucky to have all his energy and institutional know-how on deck!

Atticus Gore Futures & Groups Head Coach

Atticus Gore is so excited to join the coaching staff for their 14th season on the McLean Marlins! Atticus loves the inclusive environment and positive role models the Marlins have introduced into their life, and is ecstatic to have some fast swims, good laughs, and a whole lotta’ fun with the whole Marlins family! In the less eventful 10 months of the year, you can find Atticus coaching for Norman Swim and York Swim club along with being a captain of the McLean High School swim and cheer teams! Atticus will be attending the College of William and Mary in the fall and plans to pursue a degree in Public Policy!
