The Virginia Hills Pool Snack Bar serves cold drinks, snack foods, candy, and other treats, as well as hot dogs, quesadillas, and nachos.  We also offer hot food dinner events throughout the summer.

The snack bar is a volunteer-run operation, supplemented by paid shifts in peak weekend hours to provide the best experience possible for our members while allowing us to earn some revenue for the swim team.  Anyone age 12+ can volunteer, and younger children can work with a parent or older sibling, with just a short training session required.

Volunteering:

We encourage members to volunteer in order to allow us to keep the snack bar open as many hours as possible throughout the summer. Volunteers can earn guest passes for the pool at the rate of two guest passes per hour worked, or earn snack bar cards at the rate of one $6 card for every two hours worked. More detailed information regarding volunteer opportunities for summer 2020 will be availalbe soon!

Paid Workers:

We hope to hire 5-7 teens to staff the snack bar from 1 pm - 6 pm most weekdays and 12 pm - 6 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Pay will be $7.50/hour paid on a monthly basis. Paid workers must be at least 14 years old by June 10, and those who are under the age of 16 will need to apply for a work permit (we will guide those hired through that process). Teens who are interested in becoming paid snack bar workers are encouraged to volunteer as much as possible to gain experience and demonstrate commitment. Please click here for to download the 2020 application. Please note that past experience working in the snack bar is an important factor in reviewing snack bar employment applications. Applications are due by May 20, 2020.

We look forward to seeing you at the snack bar this summer!
