Head coach Holly Hulett first began swimming for Oak Creek when she was 7 years old. She began swimming competitively when she was 10, where she excelled at the sport; she qualified for her first national swim meet at the age of 14. Her favorite events were the 100 and 200 backstroke. Holly went to Bellbrook High School, where she qualified for the High School State Championship Swim Meet all 4 years. She graduated from Bellbrook in 2016. Holly swam for the United States Military Academy her freshman year of college but has decided to continue her education and swim career elsewhere in the fall. Holly was an assistant coach for 3 summers, mainly working with the 6 and under group, and fell in love with coaching. Her favorite thing about swimming is that you can do it for your whole life and it is very fun.

Assistant coach Kevin Hutcherson:  I am going to be a senior at Waynesville High School where I continue to improve my swimming career. I qualified for districts and almost state in the 200 and 400 Free Relays. I moved to Ohio in December of 2014 and starting swimming competitively summer of 2015. Ever sense swimming has been a big part of my life. I swim for my high school team in the winter and swim for a summer team every year. The pure joy swimming brings me, the dedication I see people put forward, and sportsmanship I see on the deck are why I love swimming. This year is my first year and season with Oak Creek and I plan to create unforgettable memories and have a delightful season. I am involved in other activities like concert band, marching band, and varsity tennis.

Assistant coach Zach Merz is in his junior year at Carroll High School, where he continues to compile an impressive swimming career, including qualifying for the district meet in both the 500 free and 100 fly each year.  Swimming has always been an important part of his life, as Zach has been swimming competitively since he was 6 years old.  He currently swims for Kettering City Swim Team (KCST) as well as his high school team. His favorite part about swimming is the inclusiveness of the sport, as no one sits the bench and anyone who’s willing to jump in and work hard can excel in it. Working as an assistant coach for the third season, Zach plans to bring a fun and enjoyable environment in which swimmers feel welcomed. Zach juggles many activities along with being a varsity swimmer, he has also been on the varsity teams for the Patriots in Track and Cross Country, and participates in various community service projects.

Assistant coach Molly Mitchell:  This is Molly’s first year as a swim coach and lifeguard at Oak Creek. She has been swimming with Oak Creek for the past two years and swimming competitively for the past three. She is a varsity swimmer for Kettering Fairmont and has qualified for sectionals the past two years. Her favorite events are the 100 meter Breaststroke and 50 meter freestyle. She will be a junior next year at Fairmont and plans to continue as a member of the swim team for all four years. Molly’s favorite part of the sport is the community and support you gain from your team. She has helped with the six and unders on the Oak Creek Swim team for the past two years and is very excited to officially join the staff this year. She can’t wait for this season to start!
