We are always looking for Swim Team Parents to be educated on legal strokes and meet officiating.  If you have the time and you want to earn some volunteer hours before the season even starts please consider attending one of the official training dates.  To receive credit hours you must attend the training, take the test, and register with ODSL through our Team Representative:  Andrew Priftis at apriftis1@gmail.com.  Below is the information for ODSL training this year:

DATES AND TIMES FOR STROKE & TURN, STARTER and REFEREE CLINICS

ODSL offers training for Stroke & Turn, Starter and Referee. This is a

great way to contribute to the team, gain valuable volunteer hours and

get one of the best views of the pool during a swim meet. Families will

be awarded 3.5 volunteer hours upon passing the on-line test and filing

all appropriate paperwork prior to the league deadline.

Persons interested in this training are asked to sign up on our team

website under the Team Functions Tab/ODSL Officials Clinics/Job

Signup at the bottom of the page. No other registration is necessary.

Training will be held on the following dates and times at Claude Moore

Recreation Center, the last hour of each session is for Starter and

Referee.

Saturday, May 2, 2015 (8:00am - 10:00am) – Stroke & Turn Only.

Wednesday, May 20, 2015 (6:00pm – 9:00pm) – Stroke & Turn, Starter

& Referee.

Saturday, May 30, 2015 (8:00am – 11:00am) – Stroke & Turn, Starter &

Referee.

ODSL has moved to on-line testing with automatic scoring of your

exams. You will know immediately if you have passed your exam(s).

Please click the following ODSL Tests to be taken to the ODSL On-line

test site. All those passing the test must notify the Team Representative

and fill out the Certification Page, all Officials should complete this

document and turn it into your Team Representative who is responsible

for submitting it to the league no later than June 10th. The On Line Test

will be “turned on” May 1, 2015 at 12:00pm (noon) and will close on

June 10, 2015 at 12:00am (midnight).

PVS and CSL training is allowed but the the following procedure MUST

be followed: The on-line alternate officials training verification form must

be printed and taken with you to the training, signed off on by the trainer

and turned into your Team Representative for the training to count.

In addition, the ODSL Team Representative must be notified by all

persons taking the training and of passing the online test. The Team

Representative will turn in a team list by June 10, 2015. Anyone not on

the Team Representatives list will not be certified for the 2015 season.
