All Swimmers:

Every swimmer who 'Pops' their time will receive a Ring Pop which will be placed in their family swim folder.

MEDAL TIMES

All Swimmers:
If a swimmer achieves a bronze, silver, or gold time in a stroke, he/she will receive a corresponding star pin.  Swimmers will receive one corresponding pin per stroke.  For example, if a swimmer repeatedly gets a bronze time in backstroke, she will receive one bronze star for backstroke for the season.
 
Stars will be placed in family folders shortly after meets.
 
Please note:  Unfortunately, there will be a $2 charge to replace lost pins.
 
 
County Qualifying Times                                                                                                                                
These are time goals (also called a “Gold” time) that qualify swimmers to participate in the County swim meet. Gold times are unique for each age group and often also different for girls and boys. County Qualifiers will receive a MCC County Cap.

Ed Belfanti Award                                                                                                                      

This perpetual award (named after our first head coach) is given by the coaching staff to the swimmer who best represents the MCC Swim Team. The recipient of this award: promotes team spirit, is pleasant, demonstrates a cooperative attitude towards coaches and teammates, has regular attendance at practice and meets, encourages other swimmers, and so forth. This individual will receive a plaque to commemorate the award and his/her name will be engraved on the perpetual trophy.

Kristen Lewis Cunnane Leadership Award
This perpetual award is given by the coaching staff to the swimmer that best demonstrates enthusiasm, leadership and a tenacity in workouts and competition throughout the summer.

Most Improved Award                                                                                                                                             

This award will go to at least one boy and one girl in each age group. It is based upon the cumulative time improvement on all four strokes (not including IM).

Relay Awards                                                                                                                       

This award goes to the most outstanding girl and boy relay team. The award is based upon performance and consistency throughout the entire season, with an emphasis on the OMPA and County.

Age Group High Point  Award                                                                                                                       

This award goes to the one boy and one girl from each age group who accumulates the most points for the team in any 9 swims plus OMPA (not including B Meets, Bottom’s Up, Sleepy Hollow B, or the Meadow Mini Meet).  In the event of a tie, both swimmers will receive this award.

Team High Point Award                                                                                                                                          

This perpetual award goes to the one boy or one girl who accumulates the most points for the team in any 9 swims plus OMPA (not including B Meets, Bottom’s Up, Sleepy Hollow B, or the Meadow Mini Meet).  In the event of a tie, both swimmers will receive this award.

Coaches Awards

This award is normally given to at least one male and one female in the 9 & Up age-groups.  It is used to recognize swimmers that stand out in the following areas:

·      Attitude, work ethic, leadership, commitment, team spirit, sportsmanship

Outstanding Swimmer Award                                                                                                                             

This award is given to recognize an outstanding swimmer who meets ONE of the following criteria, but is not awarded the High Point in his or her age-group.

  • Win an OMPA event
  • Place in the top 5 at OMPA in all three of his/her individual events (or top 3 in both events for 6 & unders).
  • Placing in the top 8 in an individual event at County.

 

OMPA Ribbon Guidelines  

  • All 10 & Under heats receive ribbons.
  • All 11-14 age groups, the 1st heat receives ribbons.
  • 15-18 receive ribbons at the discretion of the home team.
  • No distinction is made between individual events and relays.                                                                        

MCC Ribbon Guidelines

Individuals:

  • 6 and Under: all heats receive ribbons
  • 7/8:  all heats receive ribbons
  • 9/10:  all heats receive ribbons
  • 11/12: 1st heat receives ribbons
  • 13/14: no ribbons
  • 15-18:  no ribbons

Relays:

  • Scoring teams receive ribbons.
