Awards/Ribbons Update

Family folders are on display on the deck above the pool by the tennis courts. Please check these a few days after meets for ribbons and awards. If a swimmer earns a gold time during a meet, they will receive a gold cap and a bag of goodies in their folder a few days after the meet. Gold stars will also be displayed above the folders on the deck. Note: our order of gold caps is delayed, so your swimmer may receive just a goodie bag and then a gold cap later in the season when they arrive

If you have questions/issues with ribbons and awards or do not see your name in the family folder, please email our awards chair, Sandra Concannon, at [email protected] and she will help you solve the issue. Thank you!

Team T-Shirts/Swim Caps/Spirit Wear

Team t-shirts and swim caps included in swim team registration have arrived! Spirit wear hats have arrived too! The rest of spirit wear is not scheduled to arrive until mid June. Swim caps have been placed in the family folders and can be found on the deck above the pool by the tennis courts. Please reach out to Belle Hammond at [email protected] to arrange a pick up of any other unclaimed items.

Commit/Decline to Meets

MVP families should make every effort to maximize participation in meets.  Meets provide opportunities for individual growth and for our team spirit to shine through!  Please commit/decline to meets online as far in advance as possible (at the beginning of the season for any planned vacations, etc.)  If you are NOT committed to a meet by the registration deadline you will not be entered into the meet. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Please understand that while we want to be as flexible as possible, failure to commit/decline to meets by the deadline creates a lot of extra work. Coaches need to submit team information in advance and greatly appreciate your cooperation in providing advance notice of swimmers’ participation.

Because of the fees MVP is required to pay for invitational meet entries, failure to sign out of an invitational will result in a fine determined by the MVP swim team executive board.

Registration is now open!

Please join us for MVP's Adult Social Casino Night on June 11th!

Family Ticket: Includes two adult tickets plus babysitting at your home from an MVP Swim team coach (age 15+). There will be only ten family tickets available for purchase.

Casino Night rules: To play, simply walk up to the table and ask the dealers for gaming chips. All guests will get $500.00 worth of chips to start. Once you leave the table, you will get a casino voucher with your name and the amount won at the table. You will keep this card throughout the event to play at any table. Simply cash in and cash out at each table.

Prizes: At the end of the evening, you will give your card to a dealer so we can tabulate the winners of the event. Prizes awarded to the top five earners and best outfit of the evening! Throughout the evening, you can get help with the games that you may not know or understand by the dealers. Why not learn for free without the risk of losing real money?

Shoes: To protect the clay tennis courts, please wear soft soled shoes that you do not mind

getting dirty. Also, NO food or drink allowed while on the tennis courts.

Inability to Fulfill Volunteer Requirement

If you are unable to make your volunteer commitment for a dual meet or other team event, you are responsible for finding your own replacement.

You may hire a substitute from our list of pre-approved, pre-trained substitutes. The list of qualified substitutes is found under the “Volunteer” Tab on the MVP Swim Team website. Substitutes must be at least 16 years old. You are responsible for your substitute. Please make sure they understand that they must be on time and work their entire shift. Payment is $60 per shift and should be arranged directly between you and your substitute. Important: Please notify the volunteer coordinators when you secure a sub for a work shift.

The fee for not showing up or finding a replacement for your work commitment is $150. You may NOT hire a substitute for Bottoms Up or OMPA!

Arrival time

Volunteers should report to the Meet Director 30 minutes prior to the start of the meet to go over logistics and allow the meet to start on time. If you are filling in temporarily for someone, please give his or her name to the Meet Director. The person who STARTS a task at the meet will get credit for the entire meet.PLEASE BE ON TIME FOR YOUR COMMITMENT!

No Shows

Any person who does not show up on time for a dual meet work assignment will be fined $150. This fine must be paid to the Swim Team Treasurer within two weeks of the missed obligation. If fines are not paid by the end of the season, your right to enroll in the following swim season is forfeited.

Any swim team family that has not fulfilled all of their required work obligations by the end of the season will be required to pay $150 per meet obligation not fulfilled and this may disrupt registration for the following season. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS.

Go Marlins!
